ADJOURNMENT
President’s Message
We seem to get past these 27 weeks faster and faster!
Most likely because I can’t remember what I did last
week!
Even though there was an ammunition shortage – the league
maintained the same number of shooters and participation. If this
drought continues – we need to help each other out – pickup as
much ammo as you can and let the others know when it’s available.
Tom can get the word out fast.
Another safe year - roughly 287,000 shots fired without incident.
That’s not an accident (ha-ha) it is because we are always paying
attention to safety. This is the safest sport there is - IF you follow
simple safety rules EVERY time.
Reviewing all the team pictures – I notice more and more grey hair!
You guys are getting old! We need to start getting more juniors into
the league. Not only is it good for the league – it’s great spending
time with your kids/grandkids. A junior only needs 13 matches to
qualify – that is essentially just the home matches.
Each of the last 4 years we’ve seen the competitive level of the team
increasing. It makes it a lot more interesting when the scores are
close!
Bring a friend to a match – that’s the best way to grow your team.
Assembling the funds, momentum and people to expand a club takes
some time. Therefore, Palmyra will again host the Hummelstown
team for the 2014- 2015 season.
Coaching is something we don’t talk about much in our game. In
every other sport we expect coaches. This year several of our league
members attended a level 1 coaching school. That group is planning
to schedule clinics starting this summer. Watch for upcoming
announcements.
Keep it safe – have fun – and hit the X-ring! (on your own target)
