Greengs! Tuesday, October 16, 2012 Lights, Caroling, and Holiday Cheer! Center City Development Corporaon is excited to announce that the 23rd Annual Holiday Parade will be held on Friday, November 30th at 7:00 p.m. We need everyone to help us light up Main Street with their parcipaon in this fun and fesve event! The theme for this evening parade will be “Toyland”. The parade and will begin at the intersecon of East Main and 6th Street (with line-ups in the library parking lot) and end at Richmond Civic Theater on 10th Street. This will be Richmond’s only parade this holiday season and we hope to have tremendous parcipaon both in the parade and in the viewing areas along the parade route. To help spread holiday cheer, we are inving you to parcipate in what promises to be a fun event for children of all ages! Richmond and surrounding communies have expressed great pleasure in aending the annual holiday parade over the last 21 years. Please join us this year in making “Toyland” another wonderful memory in the minds and hearts of our community members. Enclosed you will find the Official 2012 Holiday Parade Applicaon. Please, complete the applicaon and return it, by mail, to the Center City Office at 814 E Main Street, Richmond, IN 47374, or e-mail the applicaon to [email protected], no later than Wednesday, November 16. 1. A completed parade application and signed release form must be received by Wednesday,November16,2012.

2. We ask that all units be decorated in a holiday theme. Entries may display a wide variety of designs. Designs must be in good taste and in accordance with the standards set forth by Center City Development Corporation. All floats must be decorated. The use of lights, costumes, banners, and other decorations is encouraged!

3. The parade officials have made arrangements for ONE official Santa Claus to be in the parade, and request that no other entries have a Santa. This is to eliminate confusion for children.

4. For safety reasons, no candy or other items may be tossed or thrown from the parade entries. You may have someone walking to the side of your entry to hand out candy along the parade route.

5. We would like to keep the focus of the parade on the holiday season. For this reason, distribution of brochures or literature for fundraising or promotional purposes is not allowed along the parade route. Sponsor identification is allowed.

6. Applicants assume all responsibility for any loss or damage in connection with their entry at the 23rd Annual Holiday Parade. Center City Development Corporation will not be liable for any damage, theft, injury or loss of property.

7. Disposal of all float materials are the responsibility of the sponsoring organization.

8. Parade officials reserve the right to disqualify any entry that is not complying with the rules and float specifications.
