General Rules and Regulations
All participants in the events must be active members (new member, associate, initiate) of the chapter and on the official roster in FSL. Challenge of membership must be taken up with FSL Staff immediately. No alumni may participate.
All events will be played rain or shine. The Greek Week chairpersons will make the decision to stop any events due to inclement weather. Chapter presidents will be contacted of any event changes.
Any participant who is visibly intoxicated will result in an automatic disqualification of their team from that event. The discretion will be left up to the FSL Staff.
Please arrive 10 minutes early to all events for a timely start of event.
Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. A spirit of Greek Unity and civility will be expected at all times.

Points Breakdown The Greek Week Champion Award will be awarded to the overall top scoring team. Therefore, all members and organizations are eligible to participate and win. The Greek Week Champion Award will be awarded on a point system. Each event is worth various points. The chart below specifies the points that will be awarded for each event. The group with the most points at the end of Greek Week will be awarded the Greek Week Champion Award. The winner will be announced during the Awards event at the end of the week. Event 1- Banner Competition
Banner must display the community values of FSL and the
theme and spirit of Greek Week and Longwood University.
Also, the name of the team participating chapters must be
displayed on the banner.
Winners will be chosen based upon: Creativity, Use of
Values & Theme, Panhellenism, and School Spirit.
The banner is due to the Office of Fraternity and Sorority
Life by 11:00am on Monday, November 12th.
Event 2- Volleyball Tournament
Rules will be distributed. All students MUST bring Student ID.
Best 2/3, single elimination. Team of 6, may have no more than
3 males playing at once. Substitutions allowed and encouraged.
Athletic shoes required. No jeans or jewelry allowed.
Brothers/Sisters not participating are encouraged to attend
and support their team members.
Event 3- Noon- Game #1
Dizzy Bat: 5-7 people from each team, at least 2 males and 2
females. Students are not to skip class for this event.
Brothers/Sisters not participating are encouraged to attend
and support their team members.
Event 4- Longwood Jeopardy
Each Greek Week team will have a 10-member team to answer
questions. Brothers/Sisters not participating are encouraged
to attend and support their team members.
Event 5- Evening- Game #2
Balloon Toss: 2 people from each team. You may enter two
teams. Students are not to skip class for this event.
Brothers/Sisters not participating are encouraged to attend
and support their team members.
Event 6- Moe’s Spirit Night
Teams are encouraged to support Order of Omega’s
philanthropy- The Longwood Center for Visual Arts (LCVA).
Event 7- Greek Sync
See attached info sheet. Brothers/Sisters not participating are
encouraged to attend and support their team members.
Event 8- Noon- Game #3
Tug of war: 7 people from each team, you must have at least 2
females on your team. Students are not to skip class for this
event. Brothers/Sisters not participating are encouraged to
attend and support their team members.
Event 9- Thanksgiving Can Drive
There will large boxes for each team in the student union for
chapters to put their cans in.
Chapters are encouraged to attend the D-Hall Thanksgiving
Dinner with their teams.
Event 10- Noon Game #4
5-Legged Race: 3 people from each team, at least one male and
one female. Students are not to skip class for this event.
Brothers/Sisters not participating are encouraged to attend
and support their team members.
Event 11- Up ‘til Dawn
There will be a sign in sheet for brothers and sisters to sign in.
Must be at the event by 5:30PM in order to receive points. The
team with the highest % attendance will receive the winning
points.
Event 12- Awards
At Up ‘til Dawn, awards and the winner of Greek Week 2012
will be announced at 7PM.
Greek Sync Fall 2012 Rules & Regulations
Wednesday November 14, 2012, @ 9:00pm in Jarman Auditorium Doors Open @ 8:30m
Practice Starts @ 6:30pm
1) THERE WILL BE NO FOOD, DRINKS, OR BAGS ALLOWED IN JARMAN AUDITROIUM THIS INCLUDES FOR PERFORMERS!
2) No performers or audience members will be allowed to use confetti, silly string, glitter, water, liquid, or any kind of substance. Failure to comply with this rule will result in a Jarman imposed fine.
3) Props and costumes are encouraged. Two layers of clothing must be worn at all times.
4) The music must be reviewed by the Greek Week committee. Music must be dropped off to FSL clearly labeled with the team and cut appropriately by 11/7 at 5pm. NO VULGAR MUSIC of any kind allowed.
5) The CD must be between 6-7 minutes long.
6) Teams do not have to include music from their decade, but may include music corresponding with their decade (ex. 1920s- songs about money/mobsters, 1940s- songs about war or America)
7) NO obscene gestures; please use discretion.
8) This is meant to be a fun event; however, if performers are visibly intoxicated, rude, or disrespectful to audience members or other chapters you will be asked to leave the building, not perform or disqualified.
9) There are to be sexual, offensive, alcoholic, or drug related references in your performance WHATSOEVER.
10) Every performer is expected to “lip-sync.” This is a large part in the scoring criteria.
11) Participants should keep in mind that esteemed faculty and staff will be judges at this event and should act accordingly to represent the Greek community appropriately.
*All performances will be viewed using approved music, and in full costumes prior to actual event by Greek Week Committee. If you deviate from approved performance you will be disqualified. Each chapter is responsible for purchasing tickets from the Box Office in the Communications building. Tickets will be sold Monday November 12- Wednesday at the Box Office from 12-5. $4 ahead and $5 at the door. Each team will have 15 “free” participants; any more than 15 will also need to purchase tickets.

Our chapter has read and understands the rules and regulations of Greek Week 2012 included in this packet. We are aware that if these rules and
regulations are not followed, there may be consequences.
