The Cal Poly Pomona women’s soccer program is in the capable hands of sixth-year coach Isabelle Harvey, a four-

time All-American and World Cup player with impressive coaching credentials already to her credit.

Harvey, who owns a 49-49-14 overall mark in her five seasons at Cal Poly Pomona, achieved her “B” coaching license through the U.S. Soccer

Federation in early 2012. Later in the year, Harvey earned a graduate degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University Irvine.

The 2011 season proved to be one of the best in Harvey’s tenure as the Broncos went 8-6-4 overall and 6-6-4 in conference play. CPP opened the campaign 4-0-1, a stretch that included wins over PacWest challenger Grand Canyon and local rival Cal State San Bernardino. Four Broncos received All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) accolades while Angela Garcia and Jennifer Rivera were named to the All-West Region team.

On April 12, 2011, Quebec honored Harvey as the region’s “Athlete of the Century.” Association Régionale Soccer Québec distinguished Harvey with the Centennial Medal as one of five leading figures to influence the development of soccer in the region, with Harvey being recognized as a player.

In 2009, CPP earned its most victories in six seasons. Three-time All-CCAA honoree Mary Carroll tied the school record with most goals in a game with four in the 4-3 season-ending victory over Cal State San Bernardino. The Broncos also overcame a 3-0 deficit -- their largest deficit in a victory -- at eventual NCAA runner-up Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The 2008 Broncos were led by first-team All-CCAA performer Pamela Leyva. CPP defeated UC San Diego for the first time since 2004 and were 6-3-1 at home.

Harvey’s Broncos improved upon their 2006 season with a 9-6-2 overall record and 6-6-1 in the CCAA South Division in 2007. It marked the Broncos’ first winning season since 2004. The Broncos won six of their first seven games.

Five Broncos claimed All-CCAA honors, including Second Team selections Mary Carroll, Kylie Duszynski, Pamela Leyva and Jennifer Lu. Stephanie Mrazik earned honorable mention.

Harvey led the Broncos in her debut season to an 8-9-2 overall record and 6-8-2 in the CCAA South Division in 2006. She coached four players to All-Conference honors, led by Freshman of the Year Mary Carroll. Pamela Leyva joined Carroll on the First Team, while Kristi Ibello and Stephanie Mrazik each earned Honorable Mention status.

Harvey, a star player at USC and also a member of the Canadian National Team, comes to Cal Poly Pomona after a brief one-year coaching stint at her alma mater. She helped USC get back to the NCAA Tournament in 2005 as an assistant coach. USC finished with a 13-6-4 overall record and took third in the Pacific-10 Conference with a 6-2-1 record. The Trojans returned to the NCAA playoffs after a one-year absence and advanced to the second round.

Prior to coaching at USC, Harvey spent four years at Cal State L.A. After just one season with the Golden Eagles as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s soccer programs, she served as the interim head coach for both teams in 2002. She then stayed on for two more seasons as the top assistant coach for both programs and helped Cal State L.A. achieve a 9-9-1 record with the men’s team in 2004, which was its first .500 season since 1996 and a 9-8-1 record with the women’s team, also in 2004, which netted the most wins in Golden Eagle history.

Harvey, a native of Cap-Rouge, Quebec, Canada, had an outstanding playing career, both at the collegiate level and also internationally. She played at USC from 1996-2000 and is the only player in the program’s history to earn All-America honors all four seasons. She led the Trojans to the NCAA playoffs three times in those four years. Her best season came as a freshman in 1996 when she set school records for goals (20) and points (51) to go along with 11 assists.

She was a three-time team Most Valuable Player and was also captain of the team for three years. She was the Pac-10 Player of the Year in 1998. Harvey holds USC career records for goals (48), assists (39), game-winning goals (21) and points (135).

As a member of the Canadian National Team at the 1999 Women’s World Cup, Harvey started all three games for Canada and registered two assists. She currently ranks 13th in Canadian history with 44 international caps and most recently represented Canada at the 2004 Four Nations Tournament in China. She also played for Ajax Fram, a semi-pro team, which won national championships from 2001-04.

Prior to playing for USC, Harvey played for one year for Monaco in the first division. She also gained valuable coaching experience as a club team coach in Quebec from 1994-96. The team was a three-time regional league champion.
