a LETTER fROMTHE CHAIRMANOn behalf of the conference organizing committee, welcome to San Diego and the 2nd Aircraft Airworthiness & Sustainment Conference. This conference is jointly sponsored by NASA, FAA, and DOD and succeeds the series of twelve Joint Conferences on Aging Aircraft. In Aircraft Airworthiness & Sustainment, we have expanded the scope of the conference to consider the safety of legacy aircraft with materials and designs of yesterday, new aircraft entering the fleet with advanced materials and structures, and development of sustainment technology for next-generation aircraft with improved materials, structures, systems, and processes.

The content of this year’s conference was selected to highlight today’s issues and available solutions, to share lessons learned, to promote the transition of emerging technology into operations, and introduce advanced technology to improve vehicle design and sustainment practices in the future. We have keynote addresses from leaders in the aerospace community, a wide range of technical sessions, panel sessions to promote discussion, an exciting exhibit hall, and continuous opportunities for professional networking. Our venue, the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, offers first class meeting space, plus beautiful views and convenience to everything downtown San Diego has to offer. Please take full advantage of your time here and let us know if there is anything that you need to make your time more productive and enjoyable.

Sincerely,

Dr. Richard D. Young 2011 AA&S Chairman

Eclypse International is proud to be a Silver Sponsor at this year’s AA&S conference in San Diego. Our focus in 2011 is to increase the awareness of the DOD Automatic Wire Test Set (AWTS) acquisition and the continuing Test Program Set (TPS) development using the AWTS platform.

In 2008 Eclypse International was awarded a Joint Services contract for the purchase of the AWTS. More than just a continuity tester, AWTS includes extensive measurement capabilities, programmable energization sources, and rugged expandable architecture, to give maintainers the ability to verify electrical systems (including circuit and component integrity) in a wide range of field maintenance conditions. The AWTS software suite includes an assortment of valuable tools, such as self learn and program conversion functions, which aid developers with rapid TPS generation to meet constantly changing maintenance environments.

For those who are new to AWTS and/or may be using AWTS in the future, a free AWTS Operation and Maintenance Training class will be held in Meeting Room 412 on April 18th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Certificates will be issued to all that complete the training requirements; walk-ins are welcome. There will be a complete set-up of AWTS at Booth 518 and we encourage everyone to come by for a demonstration.

This year, Eclypse is proud to offer “The TPS Doctor.” Free TPS development assistance will be available in Meeting Room 412 on April 19th and April 20th from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and April 21st from 9:00 AM -12:00 PM. No matter if you are a beginner that needs help getting started or an advanced programmer with in-depth questions our, TPS engineers will be happy to share their experience and help you in your TPS development.

Stop by Booth 518 to see our full line of innovative equipment, software, and services for today’s maintenance environments and ask how Eclypse can help meet your needs. For more information visit our website at www.eclypse.org.
