Description• This workshop is designed for educators and others in

the classroom who provide instruction. Participants will explore some of the tools needed by young learners to

develop into effective leaders and become their personal best.

• "Hands-On" sample lessons on Ethics, Time Management, Mental and Emotional Health, Conflict

Resolution, Taking the Initiative, and Paradigms of Self will be highlighted. Participants will learn where and how

to focus their instruction to improve their students leadership skills.

2 Truths and a Lie



Video # 1

Faculty at Miami Springs Middle School respond to the following question:

“How do you encourage the development of leadership skills in your students?”



Educators should “Dress the Part”

• Facilitators will model exemplars of appropriate and non-appropriate

business attire



Ethics- what is this anyway? • Ethics are often summed up in what is

considered the “golden rule”—do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

• Ethics are considered the moral standards by which people judge behavior

• How can you incorporate a ethics lesson into your curriculum?



Video # 2

At the beginning of the school year, create an Honor Code for your Academy,

establish a Fairness Committee



Time Management & Stress

• How does poor time management skills cause stress in students?
