OverviewLet Carlisle simplify your next Sure-White® EPDMinstallation with their Pressure-Sensitive ElastoformFlashing. A nominal 60-mil (1.5 mm) thick, uncured,EPDM membrane laminated to a nominal 35-mil(0.89 mm) thick, fully cured pressure-sensitiveadhesive. The flashing membrane is easily malleableand highly adaptable to irregular shapes andsurfaces. It is self-curing and can be used to flashpipes, scuppers and other roof systems structuresand penetrations. The clear poly release liner on the12”-wide product is pre-slit down the center allowingthe applicator to partially remove the liner making iteasier to handle during installation.

Intended UsesIt is ideal for field-wrapping large (greater than 6") orirregular pipes or penetrations.

Features and Benefits

• Available in 9" and 12" wide by 50' rolls

• Adaptable to irregular shapes and surfaces

• Self-curing membrane

• Labor and cost savings in field applications

Installation *

1. The entire surface where the PS ElastoformFlashing will be applied must be clean. Theadhesive on the back of the PSElastoform Flashing will not adhere todusted or dirty surfaces. Any residualcontamination will be detrimental to thebond strength of the adhesive.

2. Remove dirt and excess dust from the splice area by wiping with a clean rag. If necessary, clean the splice area thoroughlywith Weathered Membrane Cleaner.

This process is essential on membrane thathas been exposed for a number of weeks.

3. Application of HP-250 Primer:

a. HP-250 with Sure-White Membrane:Roller apply the primer to the area of the membrane to be flashed with a short naplength paint roller. The coated area will befree of globs or puddles.

4. Application of LV-600 Primer:

a. LV-600 with Standard Sure-White Membrane: Apply the primer with thesupplied Primer Pad and a Primer PadHandle. SCRUB the membrane in a circularmotion to achieve a thin, even coat on themembrane area to be flashed.

5. Allow the HP-250 or LV-600 Primer to dryuntil it does not transfer to a dry fingertouch. Install Elastoform Flashingimmediately to minimize potential dustcontamination and promote adhesion incolder weather.

6. Position the flashing over the area to be covered and press down the exposed tape adhesive using firm, even hand pressure across the entire area. Continue this process until the full area to be flashed is completed.

7. Immediately roll the PS Elastoform Flashing with a 2” (50 mm) wide steel roller, using positive pressure. Roll across the flashing edge, not parallel to it.

8. To achieve proper adhesion of the PSElastoform Flashing when job sitetemperatures fall below 40ºF (5ºC), heat theprimed area of the membrane with a hot air gun as the flashing is applied and pressedinto place.

9. Carlisle's PS Elastoform Flashing is used to flash many different roofing systemstructures and penetrations. The specificmethod of applying the flashing for eachindividual situation is different. Theappropriate Carlisle Specification and/ordetail must be consulted priorto application.

* REVIEW CURRENT CARLISLE SPECIFICATIONS AND DETAILS FOR SPECIFIC APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS.

Precautions

1. Avoid prolonged contact with skin. In case of contact with skin, thoroughly wash affected area with soap and water.

2. Prolonged job site storage temperatures in excess of 90ºF (32ºC) may affect productshelf life.

3. In warm, sunny weather; keep PSElastoform Flashing rolls in their boxor in a shaded area until ready to use.

4. Storage and use of PS Elastoform Flashingat temperatures below 40ºF (4ºC) will resultin a loss of adhesive tack, and in extremecases, will result in no bond to the substrate. Overnight storage must beavailable to keep the temperature of the PSElastoform Flashing at a minimum of 60ºF(15ºC). Hot boxes for job site storage mustbe provided to maintain a minimum producttemperature of 40ºF (4ºC).

5. Sure-White PS Elastoform Flashing must bestored in a dry area.

6. Due to solvent flash-off, condensation mayform on applied Primer when the ambienttemperature is near the dew point. Ifcondensation develops, the application of Primer and PS Elastoform Flashing must bediscontinued since proper adhesion will notbe achieved. Allow the surface to dry andapply Primer to the previously coated surface and apply PS Elastoform Flashing when conditions allow.

7. Do not allow waste products (petroleum, grease, oil, solvents, vegetable or mineral oil, animal fats, etc.) or direct steam ventingto come in contact with the Sure-White PS Elastoform Flashing.

8. A heat gun is required when forming PSElastoform Flashing in colder temperaturesas outlined in the specification.

9. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.
