Postseason Game Summaries:May 1, 2008: Rangers 3 vs. Penguins 0: Jaromir Jagr (two goals and one assist) led the way offensively and Henrik Lundqvist (29 saves) posted his second career playoff shutout to propel the Rangers to a Game Five win over the Penguins. After a scoreless first period, Jagr opened the game's scoring with an even strength tally at 12:45 of the middle frame. Later in the period, Lundqvist turned aside a penalty shot attempt by Evgeni Malkin to protect the Blueshirts' lead heading into the final frame. Jagr clinched the win with a power play, empty net goal in the closing seconds, and in the process, passed Mario Lemieux for 11th on the NHL's all-time playoff goals list (77 goals). With the shutout, Lundqvist became the third Rangers' goaltender in franchise history to record a shutout when facing elimination (April 12, 1928 vs. Montreal Maroons - Joe Miller, Finals Game Four, 1-0; May 7, 1986 vs. Montreal Canadiens - John Vanbiesbrouck, Conference Finals Game Four, 2-0). New York RangersHead Coach

Tom Renney

Notes: Is now in his third season as Head Coach and eighth season with the Rangers. After being named the 33rd head coach in franchise history on July 6, 2004, Renney has led the Rangers to 40-or-more wins in consecutive seasons, a feat last accomplished by the club in 1974. On November 10, 2007, he won his 100th game as the Rangers' Head Coach becoming just the eighth person in franchise history to reach the mark.

In 2006-07, Renney compiled a 42-30-10 record during the regular season and helped the Blueshirts reach the playoffs for the second time in as many years. He also guided the team to a first-round playoff sweep last season, marking New York’s first since 1994. Season highlights include his 100th career victory (Nov. 21 vs. Carolina) and his first career playoff win (Apr. 12 at Atlanta). During the 2005-06 season, Renney guided the team to a 44-26-12 mark, and with 100 points, turned in the sixth-highest point total in club history. After leading the Blueshirts to the post-season for the first time since 1997, he was tabbed a finalist for the Jack Adams Award, given annually to the league's most outstanding coach.

2007-2008 Notes:* Notched his 10th career playoff win on Apr. 18 at New Jersey.* Defeated the Penguins on Monday at Madison Square Garden, passing Herb Brooks for fifth on the Rangers' all-time coaching wins list.* Won his 120th game as the Rangers' Head Coach on Feb. 16 vs. Buffalo.* Notched his 100th win as the Rangers' Head Coach on Nov. 10 at Toronto.* Won his third consecutive season opener on Oct. 4 vs. Florida, and is now 3-0-0 in season openers with the Rangers.
