A r r o w F u n d i n g In 2004, Laura Lucas began Arrow Funding. She returned to Midwest City after leaving the area to seek treatment in Seattle, WA for a severe epilepsy disorder. She has been completely free of the disorder for 16 years.

Arrow Funding is a financial assistance company curtailed for businesses and, in some cases, individuals in need of cash. A description of Arrow Funding includes: factoring or accounts receivable financing; funding of purchase orders; purchasing medical claims w/protection should a lawsuit occur; government contracts; and lawsuit—pre-settlement funding.

Lucas said while living in California for a time, she attended a seminar filled with a group of private funders with different financial interests. She said they were looking for consultants in different areas of the United State to do the legwork

of finding clients then matchmaking the business and its needs to the correct funding source.

“When the right match happens, what used to be financial hardship for a business becomes smooth sailing. Our job is to remove all the financial bumps, thereby allowing businesses to grow and succeed,” she said.

Arrow Funding is located at 1205 S. Air Depot and operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday—Friday. Lucas can be contacted at 391-3301 or at [email protected].

The first-ever “Tinker and the Primes” Business Opportunity & Intelligence Conference was held November 18th at the Reed Center with approximately 300 participants. The conference was developed by the Eastern Oklahoma County MRO & Aerospace Partnership in association with the Tinker AFB Office for Small and Disadvantaged Business Source Development and the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission in an effort to make Oklahoma businesses more aware of the contracting opportunities available to them through Tinker AFB, Mike Monroney FAA Center, and their Prime Contractors. Over 30 conference exhibitors were available to talk with businesses about "source qualifying" for contracts directly related to Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), or systems related contracting. The conference also touched on operational issues, such as the upcoming Gate Realignment Project and Housing Privatization Project. For more information about the MRO & Aerospace Partnership, visit www.aeroeoc.com.

The foundation of Mid-west City’s existence is its mission as a support community for Tinker Air Force Base. The Midwest City Chamber of Commerce places the highest priority on issues and activities that protect and preserve Tinker. The efforts of the Mid-west City Chamber of Commerce in support of Tinker ensures bene-fits to the entire county. To this end, the Military Affairs Commit-tee asks for your assistance in obtaining funding for the Tinker Quarterly Awards program. The Midwest City Chamber of Commerce origi-nated this program with Tinker AFB over 20 years ago and is recognized by Pentagon officials to be one of the finest in the country. The participants are nominated by their unit command-ers, tested in written exams and oral interviews on their knowledge of requirements for duties they perform, and their volunteer ac-tivities on and off the base. Win-ners at the Squadron level then

compete against one another at the base wide level, and those are the winners who receive packets from the Midwest City Chamber and its membership supporters. In 2005, each of the top three quarterly winners received $300 in gift certificates and sav-ings bonds and $600 in cash. This is a great marketing opportunity for you. Your business will be visible to over 300 attendees at each quarterly awards luncheon in the form of a power point presen-tation as well as being printed in the program. Contributors may also attend the luncheons periodi-cally. In addition, the winners receive a list of contributors in their packet. The Midwest City Chamber of Commerce is the pre-senter to the top twelve overall base winners for the year for both the Air Force & Navy personnel. We know you will want to be a part of this program that supports are finest military person-nel at Tinker Air Force Base. For further information, please contact the Chamber at 733-3801.

The Chamber would like to thank the following who continue to support this important

and rewarding program.
