TRANSCRIPT
Editorial…. The Coyotes are crooning and the Kamath family living in the wilderness there have spotted a pack of them are travelling through the forests of Erin, probably waiting for the young ones of the Canadian Myna in four nests at our place to hatch. The transition from the cold to summery days may not have taken many Amchi’s by surprise but there were a few die hards who refused to leave Florida. Why would he … Arun Maam was after all enjoying his grand child in that Disney land... As Divya- Ravi Nayak led EC team nears their term end they can count on a wonderful roster elegantly dispensed. The team work and the behind the scene work that went in is all for us to see. Satyanarayana Pooja was surely a great example of a meticulous Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas. Was it the Sappath that turned so many people in or was it the auspicious Poornima moon that brought people in. All the Amchigello’s would obviously say it’s the latter. Now full steam ahead to Heart Lake Conservation Green Acres for the July 21
st Picnic. Oh!!! The cacophony of Amchci voices should jolt all the
nesting Canadian Myna hatchlings from their nests. Good that Einstein, Midas will be around to keep the predatory Coyotes off the property. A little over a month for this event and the buzz in the Konkan lands of Brampton, Mississauga and that True North Territory of Erin is all the more pronounced. Kedana event ,khai the, jevanna kassale??? That last part should be obvious. You can never separate a Amchigello from Javan…. We should really have been called Amchi-javana-gello. Shivadas Maam as usual was shouting there…” Kapala Ussal dhiv Nakka!!… Surre sang Bhel assa ki na??…. I said Ravi- Nandita ka nimge Maam. But come along with Midas please. Inside this E Samachar you will read some fascinating facts of our own Chidambram Temple. A article that still fascinates me to this day about some of our ancient temples is show cased here. I would love to know your comments when you see it. Murlaidhar Maam has contributed two of his poems to us. So do read this and enjoy. As the term of this EC comes to a close so does mine. It has been a great pleasure writing my mind here and collating all the servings for you all. Enjoyyyy the rest of the summer as for as I am concerned I will stay busy warding off those conniving yet beautiful Coyotes who are after my young goslings. Jai Ho!!!! Niranjan Kamath

Volume VI Issue June - 2018
Dear OKA family, Namaskaru! Looking forward to the long weekend as we celebrate 151st birthday of this wonderful country we live in and have made a home – Canada! This reminds me of my grandmother who used to “Ushna khan uney karai” I am sure most of you agree that food we consume has a direct impact on our body. While Hot foods like onions, tomatoes, ginger can improve digestion and circulation in our body, cool foods like coconut, cauliflower, asparagus can provide nourishment and strength. Folks, this summer look in your pantry and fridge. Eat cool and eat healthy! I hope you have marked your calendars for July 21st. The details are on our website as well as Facebook page. Please register online. We need the registration numbers to make the payment 2 weeks prior to the day of. A big Thank you to all our members and sponsors who collectively continue to make this happen. We are looking forward to seeing all of you and continue celebrating traditions together! As Kalidas so aptly said: Yesterday is but a dream, Tomorrow is only a vision. But Today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope! CHIDAMBARA RAHASYAM It has been always told by our Ancient Sages that Lord Nataraja ‘s big toe at the Chidambaram Tem-ple is the Centre Point of World 's Magnetic Equator. Our ancient Tamil Scholar Thirumoolar has proved this Five thousand years ago His treatise, Thirumandiram is a wonderful Scientific guide for the whole world. Let me elaborate. Chidambaram temple embodies the following characteristics: 1. This temple is located at the Center Point of world 's Magnetic Equator. 2. Of the "Pancha bootha" i.e. 5 temples, Chidambaram denotes the Skies. Kalahasthi denotes
Wind. Kanchi Ekambareswar denotes land. 3. All these 3 temples are located in a straight line at 79 degrees 41 minutes Longitude. This can
be verified using Google. An amazing fact & astronomical miracle. 4. Chidambaram temple is based on the Human Body having 9 Entrances denoting 9 Entrances or
Openings of the body. 5. Temple roof is made of 21600 gold sheets which denotes the 21600 breaths taken by a human
being every day (15 x 60 x 24 = 21600) 6. These 21600 gold sheets are fixed on the Gopuram using 72000 gold nails, which denote the
total number of Nadis (Nerves) in the human body. These transfer energy to certain body parts that are invisible.
7. Thirumoolar states that man represents the shape of Shivalingam, which represents Chidam-baram, which represents Sadashivam, which represents the Lord’s celestial dance.
8. Ponnambalam " is placed slightly tilted towards the left. This represents our Heart. To reach this, we need to climb 5 steps called "Panchatshara padi " Si, Va, Ya, Na, Ma " are the 5 Panchatshara mantras.
9. There are 4 pillars holding the Kanagasabha representing the 4 Vedas. 10. Ponnambalam has 28 pillars denoting the 28 "Ahamas "as well as the 28 methods to worship
Lord Shiva. These 28 pillars support 64 +64 Roof Beams that denote the 64 Arts. The cross beams represent the Blood Vessels running across the Human body.
11. 9 Kalasas on the Golden Roof represent the 9 types of Sakthi or Energies. 12. The 6 pillars at the Artha Mantapa represent the 6 types of Sashtras. 13. The 18 pillars in the adjacent Mantapa represent 18 Puranams. 14. The dance of Lord Nataraja is described as Cosmic Dance by Western Scientists. Whatever Science is propounding now has been stated by Hinduism thousands of years ago
Hinduism is not just religion. It’s a way of living. Be proud of it
