Grace’s Women’s Spring Tea is scheduled for Saturday, May 13th at 11 a.m. at the Gym. This is a ladies event hosted by the Women’s Ministry team and planned for all ages. Come and enjoy a variety of teas, finger sandwiches, salad, and dainty desserts. There will also be raffles and boutique sales. Luther’s 95 Theses begins, “When our Lord and Master Jesus Christ said, ‘Repent’ (Matt. 4:17), he willed the entire life of believers to be one of repentance.” That doesn’t sound very exciting. Luther encouraged people to renew their Baptism every day. Christiansare to daily die to the old Adam, their sinful nature. In his Large Catechism, Luther observed that Baptism “is nothing else than

putting to death the old Adam, and after that the resurrection of the new man, both of which must take place in us all our lives, so that a truly Christian life is nothing else than a daily Baptism, once begun and everto be continued. For this must be practiced without ceasing, that we ever keep purging away whatever isof the old Adam, and that that which belongs to the new man come forth.” Dying to self in order to rise with Christ is the daily reality of faith. The focus is not on our dying or onour old Adam (sin). The focus is on the promise of resurrection in Jesus Christ. He is our life. He is our hope.He is our joy. Repentance is a turning away from self to Jesus. In Him is life and light. In Him is salvation and forgiveness. In Him is eternal life. Repent. You are His. Through Baptism. And this is true every day.

Preparation for the Lord’s SupperThe Lord’s Supper is celebrated at this congregation in the confession and glad confidence that, as He says, our Lord gives into our mouths not only bread and wine but His very body and blood to eat and to drink for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with Him and with one another. Our Lord invites to this special meal those who trust in His words, repent of all sin, and set aside any refusal to forgive and love as He forgives and loves us, that they may celebrate His resurrection and live their lives led by the Holy Spirit until He comes again to establish His new heaven and earth. Because those who eat and drink our Lord’s body and blood unworthily do so to their great harm and because Holy Communion is a confession of the faith which is confessed at this altar, any who are not yet instructed and confirmed, in doubt, or who hold a confession differing from that of this congregation and The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and yet desire to receive the Sacrament, are asked first to speak with one of the Pastors, elder or an usher.
