Introduction
There was a time when a person would get a job and stick with it throughout their
professional careers. The Indian. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in 2010, that the
average person born at the end of the Baby Boomer generation has held 11 jobs between
the ages of 18 and 44. Today, people in their twenties change jobs an average of every
two years. Employers are frustrated with the lack of employee loyalty. But many
employees complain that their work has little meaning. What am I loyal to? many ask
themselves.
According to the Center for Work-Life Policy, the proportion of employees professing
loyalty to their employers plunged to 39% from from 95% between June, 2007 and
December 2008. The study also found the number of employees trusting their employers
fell to 22% from 79% in the same period. A survey by DDI, a U.S. consultancy firm,
found more than 50% of all employees were stagnators workers with little
interesting work to do and little hope for promotion and half of these people planned
to look for new work once the economy improves.
Why this employee loyalty is decreasing. This is the main question and aspect of my
research work. I am trying to figure out the reasons behind decreased loyalty towards a
company within employees. My focus is on Insurance sector and the area for my research
includes municipal limits of Sitapur City.

are reason behind this day to day migration from a company to other. With detailed result
and analysis, the companies in insurance sector which is my main concern will get a clear
picture for the reason which promoted employee migration thus helping them to change
their policies, work environment or any other which may be required to stop this, as a
good employee is wealth of a company.

Conclusions
To study Employee Loyalty, employee satisfaction and employee engagement must be
studied first. Why an employee is not loyal today? Basic answer is because of company
strategies and policies then present prevailing competitive atmosphere where every one is
running to earn their livelihood. Moreover Insurance Sector is one of the deadliest
employment ventures in my concern, as here job survival is based on your performance
and the pressure on the employees is very high. So job loyalty is least in this sector as
more from changing in the same sector one wants to join other sector such as banking,
etc.,
