WHV – Borobudur

Borobudur Temple Compounds, Magelang, Indonesia

15 international volunteers cooperated with a local youth volunteering group, Young Guardian Club. Since IIWC organized WHC workcmap at Borobudur Temple in 2008, there has been growing interest among youth in Indonesia. In 2011, 30 new young guardians were trained and these trained guardians worked with international volunteers. Training regarding basic knowledge of protection, promotion and preservation strategies was provided to 30 young guardians. International volunteers organized workshops on creating

educational and promotional materials and ran the one stop services points for the visitors of the Borobudur. As a result, 10 posters for visitors were made by students and volunteers. Volunteers and young guardians organized a workshop at Borobudur. To attract visitors volunteers and young guardians performed performances.
