1 The rich decoration of the El Transito Synagogue, the most important architectural example of the Hispano-Jewish past.
2 This silver case for holding the mezuzah, a precious parchment that ensures divine protection for Jewish homes.
3 The Torah or Scroll of the Law, adorned with mantle, breastplate, crown and shafts. 4 The Jewish symbols carved on the Trilingual Basin, one of the oldest and most emblematic pieces of Hispanic Judaism.
5 16th-17th century Cup-rest from Talavera (Toledo) bearing the coat of arms of the Inquisition, the court that mainly persecuted converts.
6 This 13th
century manuscript, which belongs to one of the most beautiful illuminated bibles in the world which has survived.
7 The contemplative space of the Garden of Remembrance or North Courtyard, which houses an important collection of memorial stones. 8 This prenuptial agreement or Ketubah, which sets out a husband’s duties to his wife.
9 The Scroll or Megillah of Esther, made of silver,
which recounts the story of the Feast of Deliverance or Purim.
10 The miniatures showing painted scenes from Genesis and Exodus from the Passover Scroll.
