FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK Dear Parishioners, Last week I was away from the office and Masses because about 2 weeks ago I was with someone who later tested positive for CoVid19. Following the guidelines, Bret Lee, our summer seminarian and I self-quarantined and also got tested. Our test results were negative and neither of us ever had any symptoms. We are now cleared to return to ministry. Through this occasion, it was an opportunity for me to see how important it is to follow all safety precautions because quarantining can create many complications. Thus I thank all of you who are being health conscious and helping to lessen the spread of CoVid19. It is truly a good act of charity to protect one another. Thank all who prayed for us and let us continue to pray for an end to CoVid19 and for the recovery of all its victims. Church Missalettes – because we are still not able to have Missalettes in the pews, we have put them on tables in the Vestibule for your own personal use. If you take one, please do not leave it in church. It is yours now to keep with you. VISITING THE ELDERLY During this time our homebound ministry has been stopped almost completely, however, I would ask that we as a parish, call and check on any and all parishioners that we know who need to be called. If there are any parishioners whom I need to call, please let me know and I will be happy to reach out to them. SANITIZING THE CHURCH We are in need of more members on our sanitizing team to sanitize the church after weekend Masses. If you are interested in volunteering, please call the church office during regular business hours.

2020-2021 SCHOOL SUPPLIES St. Mary Outreach Committee would like to ask all parishioners to help us collect school supplies for the less fortunate families with school age children. Next week, a display board will be in the gathering area with a list of supplies needed by each child. Thank you for helping as we prepare for this upcoming school year.

FETE-DIEU DU TECHE The 6th annual Eucharistic Procession down Bayou Teche, is scheduled for Saturday, August 15. For more information, go to www.jesuscrucified.net or email Fr. Michael Champagne, CJC at [email protected]. 2021 CALENDARS! It’s that time of year again to order 2021 calendars. If you are interested in sponsoring our parish calendar, please contact Father Cedric, during regular business hours, at 981-3379.

THANK YOU A special thank you goes out to our Flower Bed Ministry volunteers. The beds around St. Mary are looking beautiful. Thank you also to Jim and Betty Venable and John Melancon for pressure washing our sidewalks and parking lot. All volunteers are much appreciated. God bless you.

PRAYER TO END CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC Pope Francis

O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith.

You, Salvation of the Roman People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.

Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection.

We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas—we who are put to the test — and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
