Dear Seven Dolors Parishioners, Our summer is moving along... with lots of twists and turns that we have never seen before! Today is Monday, July 13. Later today the Chrism Mass will be celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. It had been scheduled for Holy Thursday, April 9. Usually the All Star Break and Game would be coming off about now... not one MLB game has been played so far this year?! During the Christmas season of 2019 wearing a mask into a store would have set off all kind of alarms, now they are required. People are getting worn out. There is a lot of strange news floating around on the right and left. We are feeling frustrated and anxious about the future. In the middle of all this - life continues on. The parish welcomed Deacon Bob Stauffer and his wife Bonnie this past weekend. It wasn't the traditional welcome, but it was warm and friend-ly. We pray for Deacon and his ministry among us. We are moving forward as a parish. The attendance at Masses this weekend was very good. That being said, we still encourage those who are dealing with age related issues or health issues to stay at home. We add a new category to those who should stay at home - those who have traveled outside of the state. Please be considerate of your fellow parishioners and obey the quarantine guidelines - stop the spread. After all, we don't want our churches shut down again, right? You, the parishioners, are doing the right thing for your parish... you are being generous and you continue to support the parish even when you cannot attend Mass. This support means a lot.... It keeps us going during a difficult stretch in the road. When this is over, your church will be standing strong. Father Richard Ulam, OSB

REOPEN AND RENEW !!! Dear Parishioners, I hope this note finds you in good health and at peace. Soon I am going to be looking for parishioners to serve on our “Reopen and Renew Commit-tee”. The recent reopening of the churches was a blessing to all of us. That being said, we now real-ize that in our ever changing world – they could close again. I hope that our “Reopen and Renew Com-mittee” can help as we try to adapt to new ways of doing and being church. Although I am not a scien-tist, by any means, I don’t think it is realistic to imagine we can just go back to “business as usual”. We’ve got to call on the Holy Spirt and search the Sacred Scriptures to see the path the Lord is showing us. Keep tuned in to this channel for more news about “Reopen and Renew”. Fr. Richard

Shut-ins and Homebound Please remember in your prayers our parishioners who are not able to attend Mass because they are ill or homebound. Anointing of the Sick

and Holy Communion Please contact the parish office if you know a parishioner who does not attend Mass due to illness and would like to receive the sacra-ments. Cemetery Support Thank you for your ongoing sup-port for the future care of Seven Dolors Cemetery. Sanctuary Candle The sanctuary candle will burn from July 19-25, 2020 In Memory of Ronnie Grkman by his wife, Janette.

Beverages will be available including Beer & Wine. The afternoon will also include Raffle Baskets, and other selective games of chance. Music provided by the Woods Family Trio. All CDC guidelines will be in place. All are welcome! Today Jesus continues to speak to his followers

using parables. What a rich treasure we are given

today in three parables about the kingdom of

heaven! The kingdom is likened to a man sowing

good seed in his field, a mustard seed, and yeast

mixed with flour. As they did last week, today the

disciples press Jesus for an interpretation of one of

the parables—the parable of the man sowing good

seed. Lest we think that these parables are simply

amusing little anecdotes, Jesus’ interpretation should

be seen for what it is—a warning. Wailing and

grinding of teeth in a fiery furnace await those who

are children of the evil one. This parable points to

the struggle for today’s believer. Sometimes, through

sin, we sow weeds and prevent the love of Christ

from blossoming. Let today’s Gospel help put us back

on track. Let us recommit ourselves to preparing for

the last days, the harvest, by blossoming as the

good seeds we were created in love to be.
