16 th Emirates Peace Violin Competition 2020 Dates: 21 - 23 February 2020 * 1 st & 2 nd round on 21 th & 22 th February 2020 Prize Winners’ Concert on 23 th February, 2020, 6:00pm Venue: Conference Center (Block 1), Dubai Knowledge Park Auditorium . Organizer: Dubai National Conservatory in cooperation with Premier Music College of Prague Welcome to the 16 th Emirates peace Violin Competition 2020. This Annual Competition was open regionally (UAE and Arab countries) for all kind of instruments in the previous years, and starting from 2019 is open internationally only for Violin instrument. The competition is a prelude to the 16 th Emirates International Peace Music Festival (For Young Virtuosos), which is planned to take place in the middle of April 2020. Both events support our continued mission of developing music education and greater appreciation of classical music as well as the diversity support of the peaceful and tolerance to the humanity in our planet through young talent musicians in the world. COMPETITION DETAILS General Rules & Eligibility Eligible competitors for Emirates International Peace Violin Competition 2020 should be as the following: 1- Beginner Category (Level 1 to 3): from age of 5 to complete the age of 9 years old in the date of competition. 2- Basic Category (Level 4 to 6): from age of 10 to complete age of 12 years old in the date of competition. 3- Intermediate Category (Level 7 to 9): from Age of 13 to complete age of 15 years old in the date of competition. 4- High Category (Level 10 to 12): from age of 16 to complete age of 18 years old in the date of the competition. Younger Violinists can enter to higher levels but not opposite. Competitors in 1 st and 2 nd Round for all levels should to perform: The Pieces and Concertos and any work by Bach by heart. Sonatas for all levels can be played by notes, Etudes from level 1 to 9 can be by played notes; Caprices for level 10 to 12 should be by heart. Participants are to compete at a level which best reflects their music grade and ability. All violin competitors from level 6 to 12 may qualify to play in the orchestra with Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra at the Prize Winners’ Concert. In the winner concert Emirates Youth Symphony would like to play Moto Perpetuo and Carnival de Venice by Paganini in unison with competitors who can play them, we welcome all competitors who can play these two pieces especially from level 10 to 12. All competitors are eligible to sign up for violin master classes. (Please see details below). Marking and results. Jury will mark their judgment from % 100. Competitors who will receive % 75 in the first round will continue to the second round, The average of the marks in the 1 st and 2 nd round will be the result of the competition. Welcome to the 16th Emirates peace Violin Competition 2020. This Annual Competition was open regionally (UAE and Arab countries) for all kind of instruments in the previous years, and starting from 2019 is open internationally only for Violin instrument. COMPETITION DETAILS

General Rules & Eligibility

Eligible competitors for Emirates International Peace Violin Competition 2020 should be as the following: 1- Beginner Category (Level 1 to 3): from age of 5 to complete the age of 9 years old in the date of competition. 2- Basic Category (Level 4 to 6): from age of 10 to complete age of 12 years old in the date of competition. 3- Intermediate Category (Level 7 to 9): from Age of 13 to complete age of 15 years old in the date of competition. 4- High Category (Level 10 to 12): from age of 16 to complete age of 18 years old in the date of the competition.

Younger Violinists can enter to higher levels but not opposite.

Competitors in 1st and 2nd Round for all levels should to perform: The Pieces and Concertos and any work by Bach by heart.

Sonatas for all levels can be played by notes, Etudes from level 1 to 9 can be by played notes; Caprices for level 10 to 12 should be by heart.

Participants are to compete at a level which best reflects their music grade and ability.

All violin competitors from level 6 to 12 may qualify to play in the orchestra with Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra at the Prize Winners’ Concert.

Grand Prize winner receives a Scholarship to attend the Summer Course in Prague for 10 days (value EUR. 1450)
