U-rings and mating rings

U-rings are manufactured aspiston or rod seals, extrudedand bonded at the joint. Theyare available at extremely shortnotice.

Our delivery programme alsoincludes numerous U-ringswhose dimensions are not

listed in the table.

Fitting of U-ringsThe inside diameter of theU-rings should be at least15 times that of the profilecross section size (T).

Mating rings for U-ringsMating rings are used to fixU-rings in place and preventaxial movement of the U-rings,which can damage the sealingedges on the sealing lips.Production is carried out usingextruders. Mating rings arealways supplied by the metre.

Fitting of mating ringsDuring fitting the two ends arebutted up against each other.The mating rings can be positio-ned on the U-rings with slightaxial tension.

Our delivery programme alsoincludes additional dimensionsnot listed in the table.

Cord rings are extruded cordswhich are cut to the appro-priate diameter and bonded.

Cord rings are used in placeof profile rings or O-Rings forsimple sealing functions. How-ever, cord rings which havebeen extruded and bonded atthe joint should only be usedfor static sealing applications.

The tolerance zone lies in thenegative range as a certaindegree of expansion is possibleat any time with large diameterrings during fitting withoutcausing any significant crosssection tapering.

Hoses, precision hoses and hose rings

Hoses are made from allstandard elastomer materialswhich are used to manufacturespecial sealing products atSimrit.

Precision hoses are mandrel-vulcanised and can thus beproduced in finely tuned tole-

rances for specific individualcases. Tolerances are ensuredthrough grinding the outerdiameters.

Hose rings are rings cut from ahose whose outer diameter isground. Precision hose ringsmaintain sharp edges both onthe inside and outside. Theinside diameter is smoothand absolutely cylindrical. If

required, chamfering and/orcolour-coding are also possible.

The special production processresults in an extremely goodcompression set.

Hat seals

Hat seals are used to seal rodswith axial movement. They are

bonded at the joint in extrudedform.

Hat seals are all equipped withtension springs. We recommenda metal Back-Up ring which isnot a part of Simrit deliveryprogram.
