I have had the opportunity to welcome new students to our school over the last few weeks and it has been very pleasing to observe the way our children make new students and visitors to our school feel welcome. It is a great reflection of acceptance in our community. Their behaviour and positive attitude reflects our community expectations and highlights one of the strengths of our small community. We should all be very proud! CAPA GATS class Congratulations to Emma, Alyssa, Hayley and Shiyan on being successful at gaining entry into the Creative and Performing Arts Gifted and Talented Class at Wadalba Community School. I can see a future where we will be paying to watch our children perform on stage. Attendance At the beginning of next term the Home School Liaison Officer will be conducting roll checks at our school. I have looked closely at the absence rates of students at TPS, I would like to congratulate both parents and students for improving our attendance rates. It is important that all students attend school every day to maximise their educational opportunities. Animals on Grounds Due to Workplace, Health and Safety regulations, pets are not allowed to be on school grounds unless they have special permission granted by the Principal for specific educational purposes. If you walk to school with your dog could you please remain outside the gates when waiting for your children. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. Swim Scheme Congratulations to all of the students who have successfully enrolled to participate in this year’s swim scheme program. Parents are reminded that the scheme starts on the Tuesday 7th October which is the First day of term 4. With our community in close proximity to the water being able to swim is a life skill all children require. This is our last newsletter before the holidays. Please take the time to tell you children how precious and important they are. Enjoy your time with friends and family and we will see you all back for a great term 4. Have a great week at TPS. Owen Dalkeith - Principal

KINDERGARTEN Finally it is Spring and one week to holidays. There is no homework this week except to read each night. On Thursday this week we will have a movie day as a reward for all the students’ hard work for the term. A “G” movie will be shown and students can bring a pillow and a snack to eat when viewing the movie.KH and KG went walking around the local area discovering places we know. A big thanks to the helping mums who braved a big gusts, windy day. KG and KH also travelled by bus to Hunter Valley Gardens and had an enjoyable day with visits from the Hunter Valley Zoo showing us a baby joey and wombat .The flower displays were brilliant as were kindergartens’ manners and Storybook corner was explored with students sitting in a giant chair. Thanks again to helping parents! Please remember to sign Licence cards as the children are working towards earning their Gold Licences .If you are going on early holiday please let the office know. Have a great week and an enjoyable holiday. Mrs Hurley and Mrs Girdham 1/2O Wow, the end of the term already! What a fantastic term 1/2OM have had. We have seen great progress with the students’ learning and feel very lucky to be teaching such a great group of kids. Identifying Us Projects = AWESOME! FANTASTIC! AMAZING! On Friday, the children had the opportunity of sharing their projects with the class. They were all so proud to stand up and share with the class all the different groups they belonged to. It was evident that lots of hard work went into the projects so thank you to the parents/caregivers for supporting your child to achieve this. Zoo Excursion – THANKYOU! Thanks again to all our parent helpers who came on our Zoo excursion. It was a fantastic day and the children are all still talking about it. Swim Scheme – Year Two Swim scheme will be on the first two weeks of Term 4 for those students involved. 1G 1G have been very busy throughout Term 3, it is hard to believe that it is week ten already! The projects look great and I look forward to hearing each student present theirs this week in the classroom. The last week of term is always a good time to restock your child’s pencil case. Students are always in need of (clearly labelled) stationery. I wish every family an enjoyable, and restful, break with your child during the upcoming school holidays. Remember to sneak in as much reading as you can, ready for term four! Mr Gaul.

Tuggerawong Public School OOSH News We are getting very close to vacation care and we are all getting very excited. We only have three more days available, if you have any inquires please don't hesitate to give us a call or come and see us. We will be sending our confirmations via email this week so keep an eye out. We hope all of our dads at OOSH and at Tuggerawong Public School had a lovely father’s day. This week at OOSH we have started our new "spring" wall display, with the children drawing objects of what spring means to them. It is starting to look beautiful. As its getting warmer we would like to remind our families and children to remember to pack a hat for OOSH and vacation care. We have had computers donated to OOSH and the children love this, they are able to continue their skills here at OOSH. The children enjoy playing their cool maths games online and also take turns with each other to do so and to help each other out. Our new menu has been a hit at OOSH; the children love our healthy options. The children have been enjoying serving themselves. We are still awaiting our assessment results, once they arrive will be organising an afternoon tea with our wonderful families at OOSH .
