Our Exclusive Holiday HomesYour Union owns three properties in Tasmania for Members’ exclusive use, and lodging your expression of interest to stay at one is as simple as contacting HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 and selecting option 3.You can check availability and if there’s already a booking on the date you prefer, you can negotiate alternative dates.Any booking made within 6 weeks of the day you make your enquiry is to be paid in full at the time of enquiry.

Bookings for Southport & St Helen’sThese two homes are rented out on a weekly basis (Sunday to Sunday). If you want to book for less than a week, or just for a weekend, we’ll try to accommodate you but it’s subject to availability.Peak (school holidays)Bookings are allocated via ballot, drawn three months in advance of the holiday period (you should include your name in the ballot at least six months in advance). You will be notified if you are successful.

A $100 deposit will be required within 14 days to confirm the booking and full payment within 8 weeks of the original invoice date.Off-peakWe’ll accept your booking over the phone: pay a $50 deposit within 7 days to lock it in. Full payment is required within 6 weeks of the original invoice date. Off-peak (non-school holidays) bookings are first-come, first-served.

Bookings for Sandy BayThis ground floor unit is rented out on a nightly or weekly basis.All yearWe’ll accept your booking over the phone: pay a $50 deposit within 7 days to lock it in. Full payment is required within 6 weeks of the original invoice date. Peak rental fees will apply during school holidays, but there is no ballot. Bookings for this unit are always first-come, first-served.

Collecting the KeysNorthern & Southern membersA key deposit of $50 is required upon collection and will be refunded upon the keys’ return, provided the rental terms and conditions are met. Keys can be collected from the HACSU offices at 11 Clare Street, New Town or from 91 Paterson Street, Launceston. Please advise beforehand which office you will be visiting.

North West membersA $100 bond is required to be paid one month prior to the booking date. Upon receipt of this bond the keys will be posted to your home address, along with pre-prepared documents for their return. Your $100 bond will be repaid by via direct credit to the same card you paid with once the keys are returned and provided the rental terms and conditions are met. Keys will be mailed directly to North West Members upon receipt of a $100 bond. If you prefer to collect keys in person from Hobart or Launceston, and pay a $50 key deposit instead, please let us know.

Cancellation PolicyIf you cancel your confirmed booking, and the property cannot be re-let for the period you’d booked, you will forfeit any payment you have made. If the property is re-let you will be refunded your payments, minus a $20 administration fee. We will make every effort to re-let the property. If your deposit or full payment is not received within the specified time frame the property will be made available to other Members.

Administrative Sub-CommitteeThe HACSU Committee of Management reviews rental charges annually and amended rates are published in HACSU’s Inform magazine and on our website. Current rates are available via bit.ly/hacsuholiday. Alternatively call HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 and select option 3. The Sub-Committee reserves the right to refuse any booking request.

Conditions of RentalOnly HACSU Members are eligible to rent HACSU Holiday Homes and that Member MUST stay throughout the entire rental period. Members must be financially active at the time of the booking.Members who book the properties are responsible for ensuring conditions of rental are met.Members are required to take the following when staying at one of the Holiday Homes:• All linen including sheets, doona/cover, pillows/covers,

blankets, towels etc. • Cleaning products including washing up detergent,

sponges/cloths, floor cleaner, rubbish bags, tea towels, toilet paper and laundry detergent if you wish to use the washing machine.

It is the Member’s responsibility to clean the Holiday Home prior to their departure to ensure a clean property is available for each and every booking. A vacuum, broom and mop/bucket is available at all properties.Properties MUST be left clean and tidy. Any reports of the Holiday Homes not being in a clean and tidy condition could result in cleaning fees being charged.These homes are not serviced so Members cleaning the properties ensures low rates for everyone!Pets are NOT ALLOWED under any circumstances. If any pets are found on the property during a booking Members will be asked to vacate immediately.Smoking is not permitted on the properties, inside or outside.Properties are insured but in the event of a claim being lodged, Members who book the properties will be required to pay insurance excess charges.If any of the conditions above are not adhered to, future bookings may be denied.
