GALLERY at 14 MAPLE: A Sure Hand Morris Arts’ thirteenth exhibit, A SURE HAND, will be at the Gallery at 14 Maple from February 25 –August 27, 2015. The show spotlights the medium of drawing through the works of four outstandingartists: Sassona Norton (Bedminster), Doug DePice (Secaucus), Neal Korn (Union) and Arlene Gale Milgram (Trenton), chosen for their expertise, talent and vision. Sassona Norton’s complex and powerful hands, Arlene Gale Milgram’s abstract works, Neal Korn’s whimsical iconic drawing and the powerful Holocaust-themed images of Doug DePice reveal the richness and variety of this medium. As Curator Dick Eger, notes: “We selected works that embodied the defi ning element of drawings –simplicity… Drawing juxtaposes the austerity of the single line with the power of the image that emerges. It is the sure hand of these artists that transforms the humble into the extraordinary.”

Morris Arts thanks our corporate partner, , for their generous support of A SURE HAND.

The Creative Placemaking initiative launched by Morris Arts in collaboration with the Morristown Partnership, will be returning starting May 28th. Bringing the arts to the Morristown business district on the last Thursdays in May, June, July, and August, selected musicians and artists set up shop, showcase and sell their art or perform live throughout the town while various Morristown businesses operate sidewalk sales or demon-strations...an exciting grassroots experience!
