On behalf of the Ayala Band and Color Guard Boosters, we welcome you to our 13th Annual “Music in Motion” Field Tournament. Here at Ayala HS, we are filled with anticipation and excitement to be hosting you and your group, and we are looking forward to offer you a memorable event that will be enjoyed by you, your students and your band families. First aid station is located in the west-side of the stadium near the spectator entrance gate. Please see any attendant for assistance in case of an emergency. ARRIVAL/WRISTBANDS: It is highly recommended to take Chino Hills Pkwy exit from CA-71 Highway to Chino Hills Parkway. Turn right on Pipeline Ave, then, veer left at Eucalyptus Ave. Please do not attempt to reach the check-in area via Grand Avenue and Peyton Drive. Band directors and staff are required to use their 2019 WBA staff passes issued to them this year.

Performing student members will be hand stamped before exiting their buses. Per WBA regulations, wristbands for pit crew/parent helpers will be given to you in your check-in packet upon arrival. These wristbands will allow entrance to the visitor side of the stadium ONLY. Any additional pit crew/parent helpers without a wristband will be asked to purchase a wristband for entrance into the stadium. You may purchase extra wristbands at the staging area. Any chaperones that wish to watch on the home side will be asked to purchase a spectator wristband from the ticket booth.

NOTE – CONSTRUCTION ON CAMPUS: Please be aware that Ayala High School is going through renovations. As a result, the Staging Area/VIP Parking has lost some space. Parking will be limited to VIPs and Judges only to allow enough space for band staging. The driveway that runs in the back of the campus now has two large speed bumps, so please proceed with caution when pushing props/instruments. BUS/EQUIPMENT TRUCK PARKING: Bus and equipment vehicle parking is pre-assigned and will be very limited on our campus. Vehicles WILL NOT be allowed on campus unless they have an authorized pass from our off-site check-in located at Gerald F. Litel Elementary School, 3425 Eucalyptus Ave, Chino Hills, CA 91709. Due to limited space on campus, these passes are limited to the pre-registered vehicles per the WBA application ONLY. We ask that all instructors and staff arrive on the school bus. If that is not possible, they will need to park their cars at off campus spectator parking lots. Please try to have trucks and buses arrive together. SPECTATOR PARKING: Due to the number of bands in attendance, parking is limited. There is premier spectator parking for $10.00 and free ADA parking on campus. Additional spectator parking lots are available at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Eucalyptus Avenue, at the southwest corner of Peyton Drive & Eucalyptus Avenue, and on the right side of the Chino Hills Community Center across from Ayala. There is also street parking within walking distance to the school. Please let your parents and boosters know that absolutely no additional vehicles will be allowed to park on campus with your buses, including food vehicles. Drop off for food can be accommodated but your vehicles will be escorted in and out to a drop off zone only.

MUSIC WARM UP AREAS: There are THREE assigned warm-up areas on the back fields. If you require additional time to warm-up, use the quad area outside the silent zones and play facing away from the stadium out of courtesy for the other performing ensembles. Please be aware of your assigned times for warm-up, staging and performance. PERCUSSION EQUIPMENT/PROPS: Be sure to have adequate staff and means to assist on moving your percussion equipment and props to and from the performance area. Motorized vehicles are NOT allowed on the field turf at any time. STAGING: Please see the detailed schedule for band and front ensemble report times at the end of this packet, or on the WBA website. See maps below for location. TIMING: 1A/2A/3A bands have 13 minutes and 4A/5A bands have 15 minutes to take the field, perform, and exit the field. Please refer to the WBA contest rule book for further clarification. JUDGE’S COMMENTS: The WBA now uses a software program called Competition Suite. Please make sure you have access before you arrive to the event. AWARDS CEREMONY: The awards ceremony for 1A/2A/3A bands will begin at approximately 5:27 PM. Please send your student leadership back to the “Staging Entrance” area by 4:55 PM. The awards ceremony for 4A and 5A will begin at approximately 9:30 PM. Please send your student leadership back to the “Staging Entrance” area by 9:00 PM. Trophies and awards will be given for the following: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place for all Classes Best Music in Each Class: Music Perf (Ind) + Music Perf (Ens) Best Marching/Movement in Each Class: Vis Perf (Ind) + Vis Perf (Ens) Best Effect in Each Class: Music Effect + Visual Effect Best Percussion in Each Class: Percussion Best Auxiliary in Each Class: Auxiliary TICKETS & PROGRAMS: Ticket prices are $12.00 for adults, and $7.00 for children 5-12 years old, seniors 65 and older, and active Military personnel in uniform or with ID. Children 4 and under are free. 2019 Music in Motion Program Books are $5.00. RESTROOMS: All restrooms are marked in the attached maps, at different buildings around the Ayala HS Campus, and at the entrance of the Bulldog Stadium, next to the Concessions Stands. SEATING ASSIGNMENTS FOR VISITOR STANDS: ALL performing members must sit on the visitor side of the stadium, until that seating area is full, at which time your school will be directed to a selected seating area. WEATHER: In case of inclement weather, please check the Ayala Band and Color Guard Facebook page at www.facebook/ayalabandandcolorguard, or you can call our Events Director Cassandra Oliva (626-221-4686), for show status updates. CONCESSION STANDS: There will be an assortment of food, drinks, and snacks for participants and spectators. No grills or open fires are allowed on campus, stadium or parking lots.

This is a fundraising event and we encourage all participants to support our event by purchasing food at the concession stands in the stadium. To pre-order meals for your band group (flyer attached), please contact Veronica Garcia at [email protected]. HOSPITALITY: We have a wonderful hospitality area for staff members to eat and relax, located at the end of the stadium near the staging gate. Please join us for some great food and refreshments. Admission to this area will be permitted to staff members who have an official 2019 WBA Staff Pass ONLY. VENDOR BOOTHS: We have retained the services of several vendors located inside the stadium gates. Encourage your students and parents to patronize and support all the vendors at the tournament. LOST & FOUND: Lost and found is available and will be located at the Ticket Booth near the stadium’s west entrance. TRASH & RECYCLE DISPOSAL: Every effort is made to provide trash and recycle containers that are easy to locate and access. Please remind your students to use these receptacles when disposing of all trash and recyclables. TOBACCO AND ALCOHOL BEVERAGES: Absolutely no smoking or alcoholic beverages are permitted on the premises. Please review this very important rule with your students, staff and booster parents. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO: Still cameras (digital or film, professional or otherwise) are allowed into the stadium and may be used from stadium seating. Tripods or other similar equipment that may obstruct the view or path of travel of others in seating areas are NOT allowed. Any liability associated with unauthorized recordings will rest with the individual or organization making the recording. WBA does not condone, nor accept any liability for, any unauthorized recording during the event.
