Tuy nhin, cng vis pht trin ngy cng nhanh, mnh v hi nhp quc t ngy cng su rng ca hthng ngn hng Vit Nam, cc quy nh ny bc l nhiu im hn ch v kmhiu qu trong vic bo m an ton hot ng v qun l ri ro tn dng ca cc tchc tn dng Vit Nam. S st gim ny cng ln th linhun ca ngn hng cng gim. H s ny cho php ta nh gi mc st gim nhtnh ca ti sn so vi vn t c ca ngn hng. Vit Nam, m bo an ton kinh doanh i vi cc t chc tn dng, Ngnhng Nh nc thng qua Quyt nh 107/Q/NH5 ngy 09/06/2012 buc cc tchc tn dng phi thng xuyn duy tr t l ti thiu gia vn t c vi tng gi trti sn mc 5%.Nm 2012, h s H2 tng 0.38% so vi nm 2011 do nhng kh khn ngnhngn hng gp phi. Vn ch s hu ca ngn hngcn kh thp. Vn ch s hu c xem l tm m gip ngn hng chu ng cc riro th trng cng nh cc ri ro ch quan trong hot ng ca ngn hng (ri ro tcnghip, ri ro o c...). Khi ri ro xy ra dn n thit hi ti chnh, s lm mt linhun ri tip theo lm gim dn vn ch s hu. Vn ch s hu t i s sm b tiuhao ht, ngn hng s b ph sn. Mt ngn hng sp s gy sp dy chuyn ch thng ngn hng theo hiu ng Domino. Trng hp H5 >100%, ngn hng s dng vnvay t cc t chc tn dng khc thng vi k hn rt ngn (ngy, tun hay thng) cho vay d vi k hn 3, 6 hay 9 thng th nguy c ri ro k hn cng hng vi ri roli sut (k hn cng ngn li sut cng chng thay i) dn n ri ro thanh khon lrt cao. Ch s H6 (Ch s chng khon c tnh lng cao)MB nm gi s lng ln chng khon c cho l c tnh lng cao khi cnc th bn v xin ng trc ngay tin bn. Nm 2013, t l ny gim thp, l mt cnh bo v riro thanh khon ca MB.nh gi tnh hnh thanh khon ti Ngn hng Thng mi C phn QuniNhn chung, MB vn c h thng qun l ri ro thanh khon, nhng cn theokiu Vit Nam, cha ph hp vi thng l quc t. MB cha thc hin c nhngbin php phng chng ri ro thanh khon nh cc ngn hng khc trn th gii anglm. Vic xt ring tng ch s t H3 n H8 cho thy cc nh qun tr MB bit tkm ch, khng m qung chy theo li nhun v th ni khu qun l thanh khonca ngn hng.
