It is our pleasure to invite you to the 2014 Erie High School Open House on Thursday,December 4th at 6 pm.  On behalf of our staff at Erie High School, we are eager tomeet you. Erie High School is a welcoming, small-school environment with an

enriching and rigorous education in academics, fine arts, and athletics. We areparticularly excited to share information about  Project Lead The Way   – a newresearch, engineering, and design focus program – and our Advanced PlacementCapstone Program; both of these opportunities will be available to students beginningin the fall of 2015.   As a result of strong parent, faculty, and student interest, we willmake a formal proposal in February to the St. Vrain Board of Education to fund andsupport Project Lead The Way (PLTW). Pending Board approval, we will launch PLTWnext fall. Project Lead The Way will engage students who apply to the program with anopportunity to learn general principles of engineering design as well as opportunities tolearn about specialized fields such as software and civil/architectural engineering.Over the course of four years we will add courses in aerospace and biological

engineering, computer integrated manufacturing and digital electronics. If you wouldlike to read about the details of PLTW, please visit this link:  https://s3.amazonaws.com/PLTW29/b176aa74-9000-43b9-a267-cdf4729f11b9/PLTW%20Engineering%20Brochure.pdf

Next fall, Erie High School will also introduce the College Board's AdvancedPlacement Capstone Program as a compliment to our existing array of AdvancedPlacement courses. AP Capstone will engage students in a rigorous AP Seminarcourse as juniors and an AP Research course as seniors. AP Capstone is offered bysome of America's most prestigious high schools, and Erie High will be the only highschool in the Rocky Mountain region with an AP Capstone Program in place next fall.

TRAFFIC SAFETY AT EMS

There are several concerns that parents are doing U turns in the south parking lot

after dropping off students.

This is a safety concern for our students who are walking and other parents who are

dropping off.

We are asking that you pull all the way through and then turn around in the parking

lot where there is sufficient room to do so. This will also assist with the flow as

students are dropped off.

Thanks EMS
