For almost fifty years the Flowflex name has been

synonymous with the manufacture and supply of high quality

components and fittings for use in all applications in the

plumbing and heating trade.

The well established brand names under the Flowflex

banner are shipped not only throughout Europe but to other

Distributing a wide range of both compression and copper

connections in a variety of types and styles as well as valves

and specialist fabricated units for use by original equipment

manufacturers.

Recent investment in new plant and new developments in

the internal sales office, order processing and distribution

have all been undertaken to ensure the quality of service and

support to customers is continually improved.

The factory is situated in the heart of the United Kingdom,

manufacturing from a single 6 acre site with easy access to

international road, rail, air and sea links.

Flowflex demonstrates its ability to supply consistently high

Jointing Techniques for Flowflex Compression Fittings

1.Ensure the tube conforms to thespecification.

2.Select the correct fitting for the size of thetube to be connected.

3.Ends of the tube for jointing must be cutcleanly across the tube diameter and befree from contamination, surface damage or defects.

4.Enter the tube through the thrust nut andcompression ring fully into fittings untilpositive contact is made with the tube stop.

5.Make sure the sealing faces of the joint andthreads are clean and free from swarf andany contamination. A little oil or grease onthe threads of the larger sizes of fittings isuseful in reducing friction during tightening.With correctly made joints, jointingcompounds should not be required,although in certain circumstances thesemay offer practical advantages.

6. Care should be taken that the compressionolive is not placed over any identificationmark or other indentation on the tube.

7.Hand tighten the thrust nuts until ALL slackin joint is taken up. Complete tightening inaccordance with table below, using a suitablespanner. Ensure the axial alignment of thetube and fittings during tightening operationand thereafter. Over-tightening should beavoided as this may destroy the watertightseal. Table below is for guidance purposes.

Sizes 67 -159mm large size copper fitting are avaliable but require

Jointing Techniques for Flowflex Copper Capillary End Feed Fittings



3.Ends of the tube for jointing must be cutcleanly across the true diameter and befree from contamination, surface damage ordefects.

4.Clean end of pipe to be jointed with wirewool.

5. Flux should be applied to the copper tubein accordance with the manufacturers’instructions.

6.Push fittings onto copper tube to full depthof socket.

7.Make joint by applying heat evenly andapply solder as required.

8.Remove excess solder if necessary.

9.67mm - 159mm copper fittings must behard soldered using "silver brazing alloy"rods. Soft soldering is not permitted.
