Metrino Pod Taxi is a personal rapid transit (PRT) made up of small automated vehicles running at close intervals. On 8 April 2016 the Union Government approved country’s first Metrino Pod project for Gurgaon, announced by Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh. The work on this project would start by 1 June 2016. This project is being laid by the National Highways Authority of India. Every pod can take up to five passengers and the fare would be similar to that of the metro.

On 8 April 2016 Haryana Government appointed two-member commission inquiry panel to probe conspiracy behind violent incidents during Jat agitation. The agitation in form of violence during Jat Reservation agitation, left 30 people dead and heavy damage to property. The main objective of the commission is to ; • inquire into circumstances relating to violence leading to loss of lives and damage to properties. • inquire into the complaints or allegations made by any individual or association. It shall specify its own procedure for conduct of the inquiry subject to provisions of the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1952.

On 9 April 2016 former Union Minister and Congress leader C Silvera passed away in Tuikhuahtlang, Aizawl district of Mizoram. He died of heart failure. He was 81. He was the longest serving member of Parliament from the Mizoram. He was member of 9th, 10th and 11th Lok Sabha.
