EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Project work is a part of the MBA Program. The objective of a project work is to train the

student in designing and implementing a research project in respect of a business problem. A

Project work is the culmination of training provided to the student on practical applicability of

the theoretical concepts learned by them.

India’s economy is highly developing. The development has taken place due to the

growth in the Agriculture sector. This sector provides the background to various Farmer

regarding various option to Produce Agricultural Activity, like Growing seed, producing Various

crop , income of farmer , Expenditure of farmer , etc. so as An important question facing many

people Which Company’s seed grow?

There are different reasons for which one can choose a particular seed for growing ,

but the main aim of there, What return will get? From growing particular Companies seed.

Farmer Expect Every time Right Value For this Investing, Working And Production

(Agri.)Activity. That’s Way seed Choosing Activity is very imported.

In this study we look at the options of experiential learning and embedding to the

skills and how the organization get the accreditation from its training course and develop.

Training is essential order to understand how to implement the core principle of coaching and

learning. Most of the people attracted up to the profession or precisely the once who are likely to

make good trainers.

The main purpose of this Research is to know what is the paddy farmer situation &

states of saathi product , what is Farmer’s awareness about it and their attitude toward them.

Literature Review

Before some year, one M.B.A. student Was Done project in this company For subject of Cotton

situation & Use.

They are finding that …

All types of farmers from Marginal to Large farmers were growing mainly Bt and some of them

were also growing Non-Bt but major farmers were satisfied with Bt only.

\

Non-B.T Cotton B.T CottonYield (per-Acre) 7 9Revenue (per-Acre) 14000 18000Total Expense (Cultivation cost) per-Acre

9500 11000

Net Profit 4500 7000

Overall, this study also underlines that one must be careful not to draw far reaching conclusions

about the prospects of Bt cotton in India too quickly because 2002 was the first season of

commercial use. Nevertheless, the results presented in this study can serve as a starting point for

further evaluation. Due to the high diversity of cotton growing in India more location-specific

information is required. Thus, the benefits of conducting more economic studies in other areas

would be significant.

Crop Protection

We are the leading global producer and exporter of crop protection and post-harvest agriculture chemicals. Grain fumigants, fruit coatings, cleaners and sanitizers, and DECCO brand storage treatments make up the post harvest product line.

13

Page 14: 107110592133 Vivek p. Renuka

Decco

Packaging and transport of perishable commodities like fresh fruits is a big challenge in a country like India. As an Indian company, we at United Phosphorus have developed DECCO for the post-harvest system. For several decades, the farmers and the packers around the world have trusted DECCO. DECCO as the post-harvest product and its services of have processed countless billion pieces of citrus fruits, stone fruits, tropical fruits and vegetables.

What is DECCO?

DECCO means (the DECay COntrol) of fruits and vegetables. DECCO produces high quality coatings to be used on fruits and vegetables. The film of coating used on fruits and vegetables provides long lasting shine, controls shrinkage and dehydration, thereby making transportation easier for longer periods of time. All the ingredients utilized in manufacturing DECCO are approved by the F.D.A, the EU and the P.F.A in India, as food grade materials.

Prominent features of DECCO range of products:

- Visual appeal, shine and cosmetic value- Increased shelf-life of fruits and vegetables- Fungicides- Minimization of fungus growth- Shrinkage control which reduces weight loss

The above factors help in improving the marketability of products and enable the producers to obtain the highest value for their produce. Some of the prominent fruits and vegetables which can be treated with the DECCO range of fruit products are:

- Mango- Apple- Kinnow- Orange, sweet lime, lime- Plum, peach, pear- Tomato- Capsicum

Grain Fumigants

The farmers invest a huge amount of money in the production of grains. It is very important that they get a proper price for their produce to improve the farm economy. We always talk about the pre-harvest concept about increasing grain yield. The data available with us show that almost 15% to 20% of the grain produced in our country is lost during storage due to the attack of store-grain pests. Therefore, it is very important to save the grains during storage from the attack of pests. We offer solution through QUICKPHOS.

What is QUICKPHOS?

- It protects the grains from the attack of insects and pests during storage- It contains 15% aluminum phosphide- It contains swallow guard bitrin which provides added safety - It comes in an attractive tube packaging. One tube contains 4 tablets of 12gm each.- It is effective for protection of grains stored in bins as well as gunny bags.

33

Page 34: 107110592133 Vivek p. Renuka

Problem Finding:

In this project, my over all Experience is very good. This project is very helpful for me.

After these projects I have find that in the Ahmedabad Aria major soil is clay & sandy

type. They grow majorly paddy in gugri type seed.

& UPL seed, PAC 801 is less contribution in paddy growing aria.

Also I found that, in the Herbicide use.. UPL is Stand no2 in market, with our product

SAATHI. One interesting finding is that 84% farmer knows about SAATHI product, but

only 24% farmer is use that. So UPL should make more afford to improve SAATHI

product.

Average Farmer are getting 200 Rs. For 20 kg selling seed price. & also their average cost

of weed controlling is 400 to 800.

One is most imported thing is that most of Farmer have satisfied with UPL and 00% poor

or bed experience. As about my Knowledge UPL is very best company of agriculture

sector, not only India but All Asia…!

34

Page 35: 107110592133 Vivek p. Renuka

• Limitations of the Study

• In this research Time, my survey Aria is very big And Limited time. That time I

face that Some Rural individual problem, That’s way process of Collect information

was very tuff

• Time management is one of the limitations.

• Rural survey is very difficult and tuff task For Any Person. So Transportation,

Survey Aria, and other some rural problem I was face, That have Make Difficulty.

• I think All Limitation is not Limitation but, they are opportunity to make perfect.

35

Page 36: 107110592133 Vivek p. Renuka

36

Page 37: 107110592133 Vivek p. Renuka

• Suggestions

• 1. Currant time company’s Distribution officer and Dealers Have Face Some problem of

Product Distribution and irregular Supply, So They Should Improve

• 2. UPL should focus on local Expectation of farmer, individually. Because some market

benefit have loss For Error local product in UPL.

Ex. In Paddy market, 82% farmer grows Gugri seed, but that type of segment is not

available in UPL.

• 3. UPL(west zone) Have Not Proper Promotion Department. One single territory officer

is alone done sells, distribution, marketing, promotion and all Activity. Promotion is

activity that is done with specific research and more innovative study. This task is not

possible with all responsibility. So I think, UPL should make one promotion & research

team.

• 4. UPL Should make business more Effective & individual. WE know UPL is good

Company, but they should apply new think like C.R.M.(customer relationship

management) & some new management concept.

Conclusion...

Our research in the field of Agricultural based product threw up some interesting trends which

can be seen in the above analysis. A general impression that we gathered during Data collection

was the immense awareness and knowledge among people(rural) about various companies and

their Agriculture products.

People are beginning to look beyond local seed and traditional Agri. method. People in general

have been impression by the marketing and advertising campaigns of Agriculture companies. A

high penetration of print, radio and Television ad campaigns over the years is beginning to have

its impact now. The general satisfaction levels among public with regards to policy and Dealer, s

still requires improvement. But therein lays the opportunity for a relative new comer like Bayer,

Rashi, Bolgard, has never been known for prompt service or customer oriented methods and

united phosphors limited can build on these factors.
