    The use of other operating materials causes

    damage to the engine and the voiding of the

    warranty.ATTENTION

    intervals for maintenance work. If you follow the maintenance recommendations, a

    long lifespan of theengine canbe achieved andunnecessary environmental damage

    prevented.TheMaintenanceintervalsspecied in the table should not be exceeded by

    morethan10%.

    Ifnotstatedotherwise,allactivitiesontheenginedescribedinthismanualmustbecarried

    outbytrainedservicepersonnel.

    During the warranty period,maintenance and repair work mayonly be carried out in

    4.1 Maintenance work by the user of the vehicle

    Underrunning and exceeding the motor oil and

    coolant ll levels specied in this manual can

    causedamagetotheengine.ATTENTION

    Regular checks before driving

    Inordertoprotecttheseawatercoolingcircuitagainstsoiling,calciumdepositsandsuch,

    the sea water cooling circuit must be ushed after each use.

    Flush sea water cooling circuit after driving

    Soilingintheseawatercoolingcircuitcancause

    severedamagetotheexhaustmanifold.

    The ushing is done with a ush kit in the vehicle. See the vehicle manufacturers service

    manual.

    1. ConnecttheFlushkit.

    2. Startengineandoperateonlyinidle.Donotaccelerate.

    3. Ensure thewater supply within 30 seconds. SeeChapter Operatingthe engine

    withoutseawater.

    4. The Weber Automotive GmbH recommends to ush the sea water cooling circuit

    foroneminuteminimum.

    5. Discontinuewatersupply.

    6. Stopenginewithin30seconds.

    7. Remove the ush kit.

    Only ush engine while running, otherwise waterfrom the exhaust can enter engine and cause

    damage.

    4.3 Decommissioning at the end of the season

    ATTENTION

    Never ll more motor oil than specied into the

    sparkplugholes.Toomuchmotoroilcancause

    enginedamage.

    Thedecommissioningofthevehicleisnecessary...

    ...at the end of the season if the vehicle will be decommissioned during the winter

    months.

    ...ifthevehiclewillnotbeusedformorethan30days.

    Inadditionto themaintenanceworkdescribed inthemaintenanceintervaltableunder

    end of the season,variousotherserviceworkisalsorequired.

    - Conserve the cylinders

    Checksparkplugs.SeeChapterChecking the spark plugs.

    Fillapprox.10ml[0.34oz(US)]ofcleanmotoroildirectlythroughthesparkplugholes.

    Before you replace the spark plugs, crank up the motor briey with the starter. Replace

    thesparkplugs.

    - Fill the fuel tank all the way

    Afullfueltankpreventstheformationofcondensationinsidethetank.

    - Add fuel stabilizer

    After approx. 30 days, fuel begins to decompose. You can use any common fuel

    stabilizerinordertomaintainthefuelquality.

    4.4 Motor oil and oil flter

    Oil level check

    - Useaclean,lint-freecloth

    The oil level must be measured with oil warm from operation (approx. 80 C

    [176 F]) and with the motor at a standstill. Measurements with cold oil are not

    meaningful.Thedesiredmotortemperatureisachievedafteradrivingtimeof

    approx.10minutesat4000-4500U/min[RPM].

    Measurement with a motor warm from operation is necessary, because

    the oilvolume changesdepending on thetemperature. To avoid mistaken

    measurements,thevehiclemustbelevel.

    Ifthemotorisoperatedforalongertimeunderextremeconditions,theoil

    levelmayreachtheMAXmarking.

    1) Unscrew the oil dipstick (1) from

    theoiltankandwipeitcleanwitha

    cloth.

    2) Replace the oil dipstickin the oil

    tank. Do not screw it in. Then

    remove it again and read the oil

    level.

    Withamotorwarmfromoperation,

    theoillevelmustbejustbelowthe

    MAXmarking.

    The difference between MIN and

    MAX is approx. 0.5 liter [0.53 qt(US)].

    ATTENTION

    UnderrunningtheMINmarkingandexceeding

    theMAXmarkingcancausesevereand,under

    somecircumstances,irreparabledamagetothe

    engine.

    extraction pump into the oil tank

    5) Remove the cable harness from

    the spark plugs and the injection

    valves. See Chapter Removing

    the spark plugs.

    6) Remove the oil feed hose (2) on

    onesideoftheoiltank.Ifnecessary,

    extendtheoilfeedhose.

    7) Activatetheenginesstarterevery

    10secondsinordertolettheengine

    crankandwait30seconds.

    8) Repeat this procedure until the

    motor oil is pumped completely

    out.

    Themotoroilinthedrysumptankispumpedoutwiththehelpoftheengine

    drysumppump.

    Tighteningtorque:

    3Nm10%[2.2ft.lb.]

    ATTENTION

    Donotletenginecranklongerthannecessary

    to prevent damage due to insufcient lubrication

    andoverloadingofthestarter.

    4.5 Engine cooling circuit

    Coolant level check

    - Checkthecoolantlevelwithacold

    engine.

    With a cold engine, the coolant

    level should be between the MIN

    and MAX markings (1) of the

    compensationtank.

    - If you must rell the coolant, see

    marking of the compensation

    8) The vehicle can now be putinto

    operation as usual. After running

    for 5 minutes, check the coolant

    level again and, if necessary, ll up

    16) Start the vehicles starter and let

    the engine crank until both cams

    of the rst cylinder are pointing

    upwards.

    Therockerofthesecondcylinderdemonstratesalittleplay.

    17) Checkthevalveplayofthesecond

    cylinderin the same way you did

    the rst cylinder.

    9) Presstherockerdownwardswitha

    24combinationwrench(12).

    10) Clampbothvalvesbypressingin

    theslidingpiece(13).

    11) Removetheadjustmentplatewith

    thebarmagnet.

    12) Measure the strength of the

    adjustmentplateandreplacewithanadjustmentplatewithwhichthe

    permissible tolerance is adhered

    to.

    13) Replace the adjustment plate in

    thespringseat.

    14) Removetheslidingpiece(13)and,

    to check the valve play, measure

    again.

    15) Repeat this procedure with all

    valves of the rst cylinder.
