Fuelquality UnleadedgasolineaccordingtoDIN51607(„superunleaded“),withanoctaneratingofatleast95ROZ[RON]or85MOZ[MON].

Incaseofemergency,unleadedfuelwith91ROZ[RON]or82.5MOZ[MON]maybeusedforashorttime.

Weber Automotive GmbH recommends that during the first five hours of operation, you shouldnotoperatetheengineover6,000U/min[RPM].Thisprotectiverunning-inhasapositiveeffectontheengine‘slifespan.

If it isnecessary tooperate theengine longer than30secondswithoutseawater, thevehicle‘srinsingequipmentmustbeused.

ThetableinchapterMaintenance intervalsprovidesthemanufacturer’srecommendedintervals for maintenance work. If you follow the maintenance recommendations, along lifespan of the engine can be achieved and unnecessary environmental damageprevented.TheMaintenanceintervals specified in the table should not be exceeded by morethan10%.

Ifnotstatedotherwise,allactivitiesontheenginedescribedinthismanualmustbecarriedoutbytrainedservicepersonnel.

4.1 Maintenance work by the user of the vehicle

Underrunning and exceeding the motor oil andcoolant fill levels specified in this manual can causedamagetotheengine.ATTENTION

Regular checks before driving

Inordertoprotecttheseawatercoolingcircuitagainstsoiling,calciumdepositsandsuch,the sea water cooling circuit must be flushed after each use.

Flush sea water cooling circuit after driving

Soilingintheseawatercoolingcircuitcancauseseveredamagetotheexhaustmanifold.

The flushing is done with a flush kit in the vehicle. See the vehicle manufacturer‘s service manual.

1. ConnecttheFlushkit.

2. Startengineandoperateonlyinidle.Donotaccelerate.

3. Ensure the water supply within 30 seconds. See Chapter Operating the enginewithoutseawater.

4. The Weber Automotive GmbH recommends to flush the sea water cooling circuit foroneminuteminimum.

5. Discontinuewatersupply.

6. Stopenginewithin30seconds.

7. Remove the flush kit.

Only flush engine while running, otherwise water from the exhaust can enter engine and causedamage.

4.3 Decommissioning at the end of the season

ATTENTION

Never fill more motor oil than specified into the sparkplugholes.Toomuchmotoroilcancauseenginedamage.

Thedecommissioningofthevehicleisnecessary...

...at the end of the season if the vehicle will be decommissioned during the wintermonths.

...ifthevehiclewillnotbeusedformorethan30days.

Inaddition to themaintenanceworkdescribed in themaintenance interval tableunderend of the season,variousotherserviceworkisalsorequired.

- Conserve the cylinders

Checksparkplugs.SeeChapterChecking the spark plugs.

Fillapprox.10ml[0.34oz(US)]ofcleanmotoroildirectlythroughthesparkplugholes.Before you replace the spark plugs, crank up the motor briefly with the starter. Replace thesparkplugs.

- Fill the fuel tank all the way

Afullfueltankpreventstheformationofcondensationinsidethetank.

- Add fuel stabilizer

After approx. 30 days, fuel begins to decompose. You can use any common fuelstabilizerinordertomaintainthefuelquality.

4.4 Motor oil and oil filter

Oil level check

- Useaclean,lint-freecloth

The oil level must be measured with oil warm from operation (approx. 80 °C [176 °F]) and with the motor at a standstill. Measurements with cold oil are not meaningful.Thedesiredmotortemperatureisachievedafteradrivingtimeofapprox.10minutesat4000-4500U/min[RPM].

Measurement with a motor warm from operation is necessary, becausethe oil volume changes depending on the temperature. To avoid mistakenmeasurements,thevehiclemustbelevel.

If themotor isoperated fora longer timeunderextremeconditions, theoillevelmayreachtheMAXmarking.

1) Unscrew the oil dipstick (1) fromtheoiltankandwipeitcleanwithacloth.

2) Replace the oil dipstick in the oiltank. Do not screw it in. Thenremove it again and read the oillevel.

Withamotorwarmfromoperation,theoillevelmustbejustbelowtheMAXmarking.

The difference between MIN andMAX is approx. 0.5 liter [0.53 qt(US)].

ATTENTION

Underrunning theMINmarkingandexceedingtheMAXmarkingcancausesevereand,undersomecircumstances,irreparabledamagetotheengine.

Changing the motor oil and oil filter

Withamotorwarmfromoperation,thegreatestoilvolumeissuckedoutofthemotor.

1) Unscrew the oil dipstick from theoiltank.

2) Insert the suction hose of the oilextraction pump into the oil tankthroughanopeninginthecover(1)untilitreachesthebottomoftheoiltank.X=260mm[10.25in.].

3) Pumpallthemotoroilout.

4) Remove the suction hose andinserttheoildipstickagain.

5) Remove the cable harness fromthe spark plugs and the injectionvalves. See Chapter Removing the spark plugs.

6) Remove the oil feed hose (2) ononesideoftheoiltank.Ifnecessary,extendtheoilfeedhose.

7) Activatetheengine’sstarterevery10secondsinordertolettheenginecrankandwait30seconds.

8) Repeat this procedure until themotor oil is pumped completelyout.

Themotoroilinthedrysumptankispumpedoutwiththehelpoftheenginedrysumppump.

Tighteningtorque:

3Nm±10%[2.2ft.lb.]

ATTENTION

Donotletenginecranklongerthannecessaryto prevent damage due to insufficient lubrication andoverloadingofthestarter.

Coolant level check

- Checkthecoolantlevelwithacoldengine.

With a cold engine, the coolantlevel should be between the MINand MAX markings (1) of thecompensationtank.

- If you must refill the coolant, see Chapter Refilling the coolant.

ATTENTION

Underrunning the MIN marking can causedamagetotheengineduetooverheating.

4) Openthecoverofthecompensationtank. See Chapter Draining the coolant.

5) Add new coolant up to the MAXmarking of the compensationtank. See Chapter Coolant level check.

6) Closethecoverofthecompensationtank.

7) Start the engine briefly and fill the compensationtankuptotheMAXmarking. See Chapter Operating the engine without sea water.

8) The vehicle can now be put intooperation as usual. After runningfor 5 minutes, check the coolantlevel again and, if necessary, fill up totheMAXmarking.

WARNING

Do not fill coolant while the engine is running, andwithawarmengine, remove thecoverofthecompensation tankslowlyand release theexcesspressure.Dangerofburningunprotectedhands.

5) Using a feeler gauge, measurethevalveplay(6)ofallfourvalvesof the first cylinder between the adjustmentplatesandtherockers.

Permissiblevalveplay:

Intake side

0,08 - 0,15 mm [0.0031 - 0.0059 in.]

Exhaust side

0,18 - 0,25 mm [0.0071 - 0.0098 in.]

4) Start the vehicle’s starter and letthe engine crank until both camsofthesecondcylinderarepointingupwards.

The rocker of the first cylinder demonstratesalittleplay.

16) Start the vehicle’s starter and letthe engine crank until both camsof the first cylinder are pointing upwards.

Therockerof thesecondcylinderdemonstratesalittleplay.

17) Checkthevalveplayofthesecondcylinder in the same way you didthe first cylinder.

9) Presstherockerdownwardswitha24combinationwrench(12).

10) Clampbothvalvesbypressing intheslidingpiece(13).

11) Removetheadjustmentplatewiththebarmagnet.

12) Measure the strength of theadjustmentplateandreplacewithanadjustmentplatewithwhichthepermissible tolerance is adheredto.

13) Replace the adjustment plate inthespringseat.

14) Removetheslidingpiece(13)and,to check the valve play, measureagain.

15) Repeat this procedure with allvalves of the first cylinder.
