    Get kids to do chores

One of the most heavily debated issues between parents and children has been about chores. Parents

spend half of their time at home doing chores. while it is gratifying to see children play all they want,

knowing how to do chores is a life skill that they will appreciate when they become adults. Here are

some ways to encourage children to do housework:

y Start them young. Many parents rather not have their children help around the house becausethey are often inefficient. This discourages children from doing chores altogether as they grow

older. Remember that this is all about instilling a sense of responsibility in children.

y Keep a regular schedule. Routine helps children remember what must be done and/or whatthey need to do daily or weekly.

y Decide exactly what you want done. be specific about what you want your child to do. Insteadof asking them to sweep the room, tell them which rooms you want swept.

y Team up. One of the biggest mistakes of parents is assuming that children can do chores aloneafter explaining it once. Encourage your children by joining him or her in doing the chore on

    the first and second tries.

y Do not redo childrens work. No matter how wrong your child did a chore, never redo thechore. This will discourage the child from doing it again, knowing that he cannot do it right.

y Take a playful approach. Make a game out of the chore so that children can feel that householdwork can be fun.

y Share the work. Make sure that while your child is doing a chore, you are doing some otherchore. Make that child feel like he or she is not alone in doing the chore. while he or she is

washing the plates, cook the next meal.

Its the vesper of our 25th

wedding anniversary (silver so to speak). Well, not much lavish celebration,

but so much blessings to be thanked to the Almighty. For the gift of lives that He bestowed upon us, the

gift of 7 children, who are all good fuera buyag. For 25 years, we have already two professionals, one is

gainfully employed, by the blessing of the Lord. Yes, I always acknowledge God for the achievements

that we have, because, I know, without His blessings, these that we have now, would be not in reality.

With the gift of work, even though, my career now is as not as good as an average worker could be, an

accountant, misplaced one, but I still have the courage to enjoy the way it is to be, for I believe that after

this trial, I could maximize the talent God has given me, in one way or the other. Owning a car, thats a

big accomplishment we ever had, who would have thought that last year, our dream service car would

turn into a reality. With our efforts of saving from our bonuses since midyear, and all belt tightening

efforts, God has blessed us, our financial plans to pursue it. Its really a blessing. For this year, our planis just simple, to settle our arrearages with GSIS on our housing debt, and perhaps introduce some

improvements on the house; and this could be a reality if God would bless our plan, in terms of our

budgeting, and spending. And this year 2011, jelyn would be going home, hope everything would be

alright, and well have a much awaited vacation with all the kids and of course with mom. My work,

am just hoping, that I could be given a chance to prove my worth being an employee. Not much on my

career development, because, I believe I have proven myself, being a workaholic before, and this

situation, is just a time for me to relax, and concentrate on other avenues of life. Well, its not within

my power to persuade the current executive to assign me back to where I belong; in the meantime I

have to enjoy the present situation.

As of the moment, I have no idea where would I want to be assign to work, the fact, that I like

where Im detailed. For almost 5 years, where I entrusted everything to God, God has been so good to

me. The people around are all kind, and seems they understood my feelings, and they just make myself

at home; for these I feel that I owed so much to them. If ever I can have extra money I will give them a

    free packed lunch
