Dr. Lorena A. LLoret-Nadal DVM, CVA, CVFT, CVTP, CVCH
( Spain) Dr. LLoret-Nadal is veterinary licensed from University of Murcia from 2002, when
she started studying Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine around the world
(England, USA, Thailand, and China). She became Certified on Veterinary
Acupuncture, Certified on Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine, Certified on
Veterinary Food Therapy and Certified on Veterinary Tui-Na practitioner by Chi
Institute of Chinese Medicine (USA-FL). Co-founder and director of Chi Institute of
Europe, Dr. LLoret is professor of TCVM disciplines since 2008. Dr. LLoret is the
president of the Spanish Association of TCVM. Speaker renowned in Europe and also
abroad.
She is responsible for the Acupuncture and TCVM integrative service at the Veterinary
teaching Hospital of the University Alfonso X in Madrid, where she actually develops
TCVM integrative service, also teaching students on practices about general
applications of acupuncture and with annual speeches about TCVM on this University.
She is now on Master Thesis of TCVM endorsed by Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine
with collaboration of University Alfonso X.
Dr. José Zilberschtein Juffé DVM, CVA, CCRP, PhD ( Spain)
Dr. Zilberschtein received his DVM degree in 1991, Master of Science degree in
Veterinary Acupuncture in 1995 and Diploma in Advanced University Teaching in
1997, all from Buenos Aires University, Argentina. He received his Diploma in
Veterinary Rehabilitation from Barcelona University, Spain in 1999 and his PhD degree
in 2002 from the Department of Animal Medicine and Surgery Science at the
University of Murcia, Spain. He received training in a TCVM Continuing Education
externship 2003/2004 and is currently involved in various acupuncture researches with
Dr. Huisheng Xie, in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida.
Dr. Zilberschtein was hired by the University of Murcia as an academic staff professor
in the College of Veterinary Medicine, in the Medicine and Clinic Surgery Department,
and became a clinical faculty member in the Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital of
the University of Murcia in the Surgery and Clinic Equine Service and the
Acupuncture, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Service. He has given lectures at
national and international meetings and congresses in different countries and
continents, and is author and co-author of books and scientific publications. Dr.
Zilberschtein became the first clinician of complementary and alternative veterinary
medicine at a public university in Spain.

Dr. Huisheng Xie DVM, PhD ( USA )
Dr. Huisheng Xie (pronounced “Shay”) founded the Chi Institute in 1998, to
train veterinarians in Chinese acupuncture, herbal medicine, food therapy and Tui-na. He’s an experienced professional with extensive academic
accomplishments. Before moving to America, Dr. Xie received his Bachelor of
Science Degree in Veterinary Medicine (equivalent to DVM), from the
Sichuan College of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine in 1983. He then
received a Master of Science in Veterinary Acupuncture from Beijing
Agricultural University in 1988, where he also served as an associate professor
until July, 1994. He went on to receive advanced training in human
acupuncture at the Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the
National Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In August, 1994, he
moved to America to pursue his doctoral studies, and in 1999, he received his
PhD from the University of Florida for his investigation of the mechanisms of
pain control in horses using Acupuncture. Currently, Dr. Xie continues to
teach and to develop educational courses at the Chi Institute in FL. He also
serves as a clinical professor at UF´s College of Veterinary Medicine. He is an
honorary professor and director of the International Institute of TCVM of
South China Agricultural University. Dr. Xie has trained over 6,000
veterinarians to practice TCVM worldwide.

Dr. Ching Ming Liu DVM, MS, PhD (Taiwan)
Dr. Liu graduated from National Taiwan University in 1989 and acquired his
Mater degree of clinical veterinary medicine from National Taiwan University
in 1991. Passing the Senior Civil Service Exams he served as an official
veterinarian then entered National Taiwan University Veterinary Teaching
Hospital as a staff veterinarian till now. He was a visiting scholar of
Washington State University Veterinary Hospital in 2008, focusing on
neurology. Followed by 8 years, he was certified CVA, CVCH, CVPT, CVFT
by Chi Institute, CCRP and got his PhD degree from National Taiwan
University.
He has been the director of surgical section and is right now the director of
Rehabilitation and Integrative Medicine section. His interested field includes
neurology, acupuncture and rehabilitation. He also helps teaching acupuncture
in Taiwan, China, and South Korea.
Dr. Antonio Alfaro DVM, MSc, CVA, CVTP, CVCH,
CBMP (Costa Rica)
Dr. Alfaro received his DVM in 1975 from Federal University of Parana,
Brazil. Master of Sciences on large animal Surgery, Radiology and
Anesthesiology from University of Minnesota, USA from 1979, Nowadays
he is retired Professor of Equine Surgery at the School of Veterinary
Medicine, National University, Costa Rica since 2005. He actually teaches
integrative equine medicine and Acupuncture to students at National
University in Costa Rica .Dr. Alfaro Certified in Veterinary Acupuncture
since 2004, also CVTuiNA Practitioner CVChinese Herbalist from Chi
Institute and he is Certified Silver level on Balance Method practitioner since
2012.Coordinator of the Chi Institute América Latina since 2017, Dr. Alfaro
is national and international speaker renowned and will be presenting part of
his excellent job with Balance Method for gastrointestinal disorders in animals at our conference in both languages, Spanish and English.
Dr. Linda Boggie , DVM, CVA (The Netherlands)
Dr. Boggie graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary
Medicine in 1987. She completed the International Veterinary Acupuncture
Society basic acupuncture course in 1995 and incorporated acupuncture into
her existing small animal hospital practice using both conventional and
alternative medicine. She completed the veterinary Chinese herbal course at
the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. In 2003 she moved to The
Netherlands and has her own practice in Deventer where integrative
medicine is practiced. Since 1998 she has lectured for various acupuncture
courses around the World. Since 2013 she is the organizer of the IVAS
Affiliate course in the Netherlands. An active member of the International
Veterinary Acupuncture Society since 1995, she was elected President of the
society in 2002 and completed her duties as President in 2008. She remains
actively involved with IVAS as the Examination committee chairperson and
member of the IVAS Board of Directors. In November of 2014 she took and
passed the advanced acupuncture certification exam offered by the AAVA
(American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncturists) and is now a Fellow of the AAVA.

Dr. Qiumin Ren, DVM, CVA, CVTP, CVCH, CTCVMP (China)
Dr. Ren graduated from Southwest University Rongchang Campus (China) in 2015,
and continued her Master Degree both in TCVM at College of Animal Science
Southwest University (China) and Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine (USA), and she
finished her Master Degree in 2017 at Chi Institute.
Under the guidance of Professor Juan Liu, she has participated in the project to
implement national science and technology (Rescue and Rearrangement of TCVM in
Southwest Area of China, NO.2013FY110600). She has done a lot of work in this
regard, such as interviewing the old traditional veterinarians, writing 5 papers about
the interviews, making traditional Chinese medicine specimens, collecting the ancient
books about TCVM, rearranging the prescriptions. Dr. Ren learned a lot of
experimental skills during her master’s program, such as High-performance Liquid
Chromatographic Analysis, Thin Layer Chromatography, Pharmacological and
Toxicity Experiments of TCVM and other skills.
Dr. Roselle Hartwigsen DVM, BSc, BVSc, CVA ( SouthAfrica)
Dr. Hartwigsen qualified as Veterinarian from the University of Pretoria, South Africa,
in 2011. Thereafter she obtained her Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture from The
Chi Institute of Europe in 2013. Dr Hartwigsen has been practicing integrative
veterinary medicine in private practice since then. In 2017 she was appointed as the
Director of the Chi Institute of TCVM Africa, her duties include promoting and
training students in TCVM. Dr Hartwigsen is also the representative for Southern
Africa on the Board of the World Association of TCVM. She is also committee
member of the Complementary Veterinary Medicine Group of SA. Dr Hartwigsen in
passionate about teaching TCVM, as well as promoting integrative veterinary medicine daily veterinary health care.
Dr. Roberta Pozzi, DVM , ItVAs Certified. (Italy)
Dr. Roberta Pozzi graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 1992. In 2001 she achieved
the Veterinary Acupuncture Diploma at S.I.A.V., Società Italiana Agopuntori
Veterinari (www.siav-itvas.org). In 2005 she achieved the Shiatsu Therapist
Diploma at Franco Bottalo’s School ‘Shiatsu Xin’ in Milan. She teaches Veterinary
Acupuncture and Manual techniques at S.I.A.V. She teaches and educational
organizer “Technician in Physiotherapy Veterinary”. Former president of SIAV, she
contributes with her professional expertise in Veterinary Acupuncture, Shiatsu and
Physiotherapy in various clinics and surgeries of Northern Italy. She took part as
lecturer in numerous cultural and scientific events (SCIVAC, SITOV, SIAV, IVAS,
CHI INSTITUTE) in Italy and abroad. She published several contributions on
Veterinary Acupuncture and on Veterinary Physiotherapy. 23 June 2012 she
achieved the Master of II level in ‘Sport Physiology and Veterinary Physiotherapy
applied to dog’ at the Veterinari University of Pisa, Italy.

Dr. Martina Neidhart, DVM, CVCh, CVA ( Switzerland)
Dr. Neidhart completed her Veterinary Medicine study at the university of Bern,
Switzerland in 2003. From 2003 to 2006 she worked as equine vet at the NPZ
(national equine center) in Bern. 2006/7 she worked as a groom/ horse trainer for
Werner Ulrich ( 4-in-hand combined driving) and went with the team to all
national and international competitions ( WC and World Cup included) From
2003 to 2005 and 2007 to 2008 she worked at the "animal-eye- referral clinic.
Specialized in ophthalmology and small animal surgery and rehabilitation.
Certified as veterinary Chiropractic at the BackBone Academy in 2011. In 2013,
she Certified on Veterinary Acupuncture at the Chi Institute Europe . Dr Martina
completed further education and certification in Equine Kinesio Taping (EKTP),
Equine Rehabilitation at the Animal-Rehab-Institute (FL/USA) and in animal
TuiNa at the Chi institute (FL/USA) . She was an instructor for animal
chiropractic at the BackBone Academy for veterinarians and DC's from 2011
untill 2016. She has been self-employed at the VeMaTherapy since 2011.
Specialized in animal Rehabilitation (80% equine, 20%small animals and bovine).
2005-2017 she has been attending and presenting several further educations and
externships all over the world ( from the states to Australia) in equine -
rehabilitation, -sports medicine, -neurology, -podiatry and - behaviour .
Dr. Elvira Rodríguez-Velasco, DVM, CVA, CVRP (Spain)
Veterinary licensed in 2011 at UAX. 2014 , Certified in Veterinary Rehabilitation
by I.A.C.E.S. CVA and Certified on advanced techinques by Chi Institute Europe
n 2015 .2016- 2017 joined the team of small animal rehabilitation service at UAX.
In 2015, it was formed with the Chi Institute program in Chinese Medicine and
advanced acupuncture in horses. Internships at the HCV in Barcelona and
Edinburgh, in 2015 she did externship at a Hovhedegard equine reproduction
center in Denmark where he works with acupuncture to improve fertility and sports
performance. She is continuing her education through CIVT on chinese herbal
medicine applied to cattle for gastrointestinal, reproductive and respiratory
diseases. Today she does clinical work for large animals, mostly cattle where she
practices acupuncture and uses Chinese medicine to help all her patients.

veterinaria. Actualmente dirige el servicio de rehabilitación de numerosas clínicas
veterinarias de la Comunidad de Madrid y colabora con el equipo del Dr. Ángel
Soutullo Esperón (Especialista en Traumatología y Ortopedia). Colaboró en el
desarrollo del capítulo “Papel de la fisioterapia y rehabilitación en el manejo del
dolor” dentro del libro “Manejo práctico del dolor en pequeños animales” escrito
por el Dr. Miguel Ángel Cabezas Ponente en el primer congreso del ESVPS de
especialidades veterinarias en el año 2016, realizado en Madrid, con la ponencia
“Manejo fisioterápico del dolor en el paciente con osteoartrosis” y con la
presentación de casos clínicos en el manejo de las secuelas del síndrome vestibular
geriátrico. E coordinadora y ponente del GPCert in Small Animal Physiotherapy y
en el GPCert in Chiropractic además de ponente en el Nurse Certificate in
