On October 10, 2010 the Great Mercy Board of Directors, supporters and staff met to discuss
the organization’s budget plan for the year 2011. The focus for next year’s budget is to be able to
rent 5 acres of land to be planted with corn and beans for the homes food sustainability. In orde
to achieve this we need a capital of Ksh 130 000 which we do not have. We were also looking at
clearing our debt we owe from teachers monthly allowances.

We were also blessed by the visit of a team from the US headed by Ptr. Muraguri, of Growth
Church Kitale as shown in the pictures below. One lady spoke encouragement to the fatherless
children being she herself was one, but she had achieved to become a lawyer and is working for th
US government now. Our children will one day make a mark in the world. The group also played
ball games with children thirteen years and above and made picture frames with the younger
children.
World Food Day
On the celebration of the World Food in conjunction of the 4K Club an occasion hosted by a localfarmer, the children of Great Mercy School were invited to perform some narrative, poems and
songs to the farmers. They also receive lectures to understand several ways to battle hunger.
They were introduced to several crops so that there will be other alternatives other than just
relying on maize for food. The children rendered to the farmers songs, narratives and poems
about the theme.
