B.GAMEDAYDIVISION1. AllNon-USASchoolTeamsareeligibletoperform

intheGameDayChampionshipsforarankingandforaWorldGameDayNationsRankingAward.

2. Allnon-USAteamcompetingintheGameDayChampionshipswillperformtheirroutineduringtheUSANationalGamedayFinals,willbeawardedaplacementtrophyspecificallywithintheUSNationalFinalsandwillreceiveaNationsRankingAwardbasedontheirperformance.

3. ForteamwantingtoparticipateintheGameDayChampionshipspleaseaddanadditional$20USDperparticipant.ForteamsthatchoosetoparticipateintheWorldSchoolCheerleadingChampionshipsANDadvanceintotheGameDayNationalFinals,everyeffortwillbemadetoaccommodateconflictsinperformancetime;however,cannotbeguaranteed.

4. AttheGameDayChampionships,teamswillberespondingtoaudiocuesreflectiveofsportingevents,suchasAmericanFootballandBasketballgamestoperformtheirrespectivesegmentofGameDay.

5. GameDayDivisionsmustfollowalleventrulesandregulations.SeesectionXIIIfordivisionspecificsandrestrictions.

C.TEAMPARTICIPATION1. USAindividuals/teamsmustfollowtheeligibility

requirementsoftheNationalHighSchoolCheerleadingChampionships,non-USAindividuals/teamsmustfollowtheprimary,juniorandsecondaryschoolsportrequirementsoftheirrespectivecountries.Additionally,VarsityDivisionagesarelimitedto18yearsoryoungerwithintheyearofcompetition(exception:InternationalSeniorClub)orasspecified,and14yearsandyoungerfortheJuniorSchoolDivision.

2. AllmembersoftheCheerleadingteammustbecurrentmembersoftheofficialschoolspiritteamandmustbestudentsoftheschoolthattheyarerepresenting.(Exception:Thiswillnotprecludeparticipationfromsisterschoolsforsame-genderschoolsaslongastheyareofficialmembersoftheteamasnotedabove.)

3. Theteamandeachparticipatingmember/coachshouldconstantlydisplaygoodsportsmanshipthroughouttheentireperformanceinregardtorespectforthemselves,otherteamsandtheviewingaudienceofallages.

4. Werecommendthattheteamandeachofitsmembersdisplayanoverallappearanceconducivetoservingaspublicrepresentativesandambassadorsoftheirschools/programs-inregardstogrooming,traditionalandappropriateattire,conservativemake-up/cosmetics,uniformity,etc.

D.UNIFORMGUIDELINES1. Allparticipantuniformsmustcoverthemidriffwhen

standingatattention.Coveredmidriffdoesincludeflesh-colored/nude-coloredbodysuitsandliners;however,fringedoesnotsufficealoneasacoveredmidriff.

2. Anyteaminviolationoftheuniformguidelineswillbeassessedafive(5)pointdeduction.

3. AtraditionalsidelineuniformisrequiredforallGameDaydivisions.

E. TIMELIMITATIONS–ROUTINE1. Eachperformanceroutine’spresentationmust

includeatleastone(1)cheerand/orsidelinechant

(useofnativelanguageincheerand/orsidelinechantencouraged).Themusicalportionmustnotexceedoneminuteandthirtyseconds(1:30).Thetotaltimelimitistwominutesandthirtyseconds(2:30).Timingwillbeginwiththefirstmovement,voiceornoteofmusic,whichevercomesfirst.

2. EachGameDayperformanceshouldconsistofaCheer,SidelineandBandChantorFightSong.UseofnativelanguageinCheer,SidelineandBandChantandFightSongencouraged.Themusicportionmustnotexceedoneminute(1:00)withanoverallperformancetimeofthreeminutes(3:00).Timewillbeginafterthefirstvideocueisgiven.

3. Ifateamexceedsthetimelimit,apenaltywillbeaccessedforeachviolation.Three(3)pointdeductionfor1-5secondsover,Five(5)pointdeductionfor6-10secondsover,andSeven(7)pointdeductionfor11secondsandover.

4. Theroutinetimelimitis2:30.Acknowledgingthepotentialvariancecausebyhumanreactionseedandsoundsystemtimevariations,judgeswillnotissueadeductionuntiltheirstopwatchesshowatimeof2:33.

5. BECAUSEPENALTIESARESEVERE,ITISRECOMMENDEDTHATALLTEAMSTIMETHEIRPERFORMANCESEVERALTIMESPRIORTOCOMPETITIONANDLEAVEASEVERALSECONDCUSHIONTOALLOWFORVARIATIONSINSOUNDEQUIPMENT.

6. Introductions:a. Allintroductions(tumbling,entrances,

chants,spell-outs,etc.)areconsideredpartoftheroutineandwillbetimedaspartoftheperformance.

b. Allteambreaks,ritualsandtraditionsneedtotakeplacepriortoenteringtheperformancesurface.

c. Teamsshouldtakethefloorimmediatelywithspiritandenthusiasm,butwithoutexcessivegestures.Examples:Chestbumps,hugs,handshakes,etc.

d. Allteamsshallrefrainfromanytypeofexcessivecelebrationfollowingtheteam’sperformance.AnyteaminviolationwillreceiveaONE(1)pointdeduction.

e. Thereshouldnotbeanyorganizedexistsorotheractivitiesaftertheofficialendingoftheroutine.

1. EachGameDayperformancemustincludeone(1)BandChant/Dance,one(1)SituationalSideline,one(1)TimeOutCheerandFightSong.(useofnativelanguageinallGameDaysegmentsisencouraged).

2. Emphasisisoncrowdinvolvement,showcasingthebestGameDaycrowd-leadingmaterial.Theuseofsigns,poms,flagsand/ormegaphones-inthenativeteam’slanguageisencouraged.

3. TheGameDaymaximumperformancetimemustnotexceedthree(3)minutes.Timingwillbeginwiththefirstmovement,voice,ornoteofmusic-whichevercomesfirst.

G.MUSIC1. Forthe2018WSCC,allUSAteamsmustfollowthe

USANationalGoverningBody“USACheer”guidelines(www.usacheer.net)andnon-USAteamswillhavethechoiceofthe“USACheer”guidelines(www.usacheer.net)orICUguidelines(www.cheerunion.org)MusicCopyrightsInitiative.

2. InaccordancewithG1,IhavereadandunderstandtheUSACheerorICUMusicCopyrightsEducationalInitiativeandallsoundrecordingsusedinourteam’smusicshallonlybeusedwithwrittenlicensefromtheowners(s)ofthesoundrecordings.

3. Teamsmustbeabletoprovideproofoflicensingduringregistrationattheeventtheyareattending.Ifateamdoesnothaveproofofmusiclicensingavailable,theywillbeallowedtoperformtoanoptionalapprovedtrackofmusicoratrackwithcounts(providedbyWSCC).

4. Ifateamcannotprovideproofoflicensing,anddonotperformtoanoptionalapprovedtrackofmusicortocounts,theteamwillbedisqualifiedfromthecompetition.

5. Ifthereareconcernsregardingacertainteam’suseofmusic,aChallengeFormmustbecompletedimmediatelyfollowingtheteam’sperformance.

6. Achallengecanonlybemadebytheofficialcoachofateamcompetingattheeventatwherethechallengeisbeingmade.

7. ChallengeProcess:a. Allmusicchallengesmustbesubmittedinwriting

totheeventdirector.b. Therewillbe$100feetorequestamusic

challengeandmustbeintheformofacheckmadeouttoStJudeChildren’sResearchHospital.

c. Feescollectedwillbevoidedifchallengeiscorrect.

d. Iftheteamchallengedcanprovidedocumentationduringtheeventandcanbeverified,thefeeswillbedonatedtoSt.Jude.

e. Iftheteamchallengedcanprovidedocumentationthatrequiresfurtherreview,adecisionwillbefinalizedwithin48hoursoftheevent.

8. Eachteamisrequiredtohavearesponsibleadultremainatthemusicstationthatknowstheroutineandmusic.Therepresentativeisresponsibleforstartingandstoppingthemusicandstoppingthemusicincaseoftechnicalmalfunctionorinjury.Pleasebesurethatalldevicesarefullycharged,volumeisturnedupandplacedonairplanemode.IfusingCDs,pleasebesuretheCDisunscratchedandingoodconditiontopreventamusicmalfunctionwhileinplay.

9. TeamsmaynotuseDisneythemesnormayhavecostumesthatresembleaDisneycharacter.However,Disneymusicisacceptableiffollowingthemusicguidelines.

H.COMPETITIONPERFORMANCEAREA1. Participantsmuststartinthecompetitionarea

withatleastonefootontheground.2. Teamsmaylineupanywhereinsidethe

competitionarea.3. TheWSCCcomplieswiththeNFHS&AACCA

surfacerulesthatschoolbasedprogramsmaynotcompeteonaspringfloor.

4. Approximatefloorsizewillbe42feetx54feet/12.8metersx16.5meters.(9strips)

5. ThesurfacewillbeatraditionalfoamCheerleadingmat.

6. Anyteammembersteppingoutsidetheperformanceareawillcausetheteamtoreceiveapoint-five(.5)penaltyperoccurrence.a. Thewhitelineisconsideredthewarning

mark.b. ApenaltywillbeassessedwhenanyONEfull

hand,footorbodyparttouchesoutsidetheperformancesurface.

7. Signsorpropsmaybeplacedoutsideofthecompetitionareabyateammember,buttheteammembermustremaininsidethecompetitionarea.Ifasignorpropisthrownoutsidethecompetitionarea,theteamwillreceiveaone(1)pointdeductionforeachviolation.

8. Allprops,centermarkets,etc.areprohibited.Thecenterofallperformancesurfaceswillbemarkedthroughoutthecompetition.

1. AllWorldSchoolCheerleadingChampionshipsdivisionsareopentotheNationalHighSchoolCheerleadingChampionshipteamseligiblebyscheduletoparticipate;aswellastoallnon-USAschoolteamswhoareeligiblebytheWSCCrulesoftheirrespectivedivisions.

2. ItisunderstoodthatteamsparticipatingintheWorldSchoolCheerleadingChampionships(WSCC)willnotknowinglyandwillinglyparticipateinanyothereventpromotedasa“WorldSchoolCheerleadingChampionships”.(Exception:Approvedmulti-sportinternationaleventscongruentwiththeWorldSchoolCheerleadingChampionshipsandInternationalSportAuthorityorganizations).Teamswhodonotadherewillbedisqualifiedforthe2018WorldSchoolCheerleadingCupChampionshipsandwillforfeittheopportunitytoparticipateinthetournamentthefollowingyear.

J.LOGOUSAGETeamswillnotbeallowedtousetheWSCClogoincluding:banners,rings,bows,t-shirts,etc.withoutpriorapprovalfromtheWSCCoffice.TheuseoftheWSCCletterswillbeallowed.K.MEDIAPOLICYNocommercialrecording(audioorvisual)orcommerciallivestreamingisallowedintheeventvenueorotherevent-relatedvenues(includingbutnotlimitedto,hotelsandrestaurants)oronthegroundsofanysuchvenues(collectively,“EventLocations”.IntheeventateamauthorizesthecommercialrecordingorstreaminginanyEventLocation,theteamwillbeautomaticallydisqualified.Inaddition,thepersonal,non-commercialuseoflivestreamingapps(suchasPeriscope,FacebookLive,etc.)tocapturealloranypartofaperformanceduringtheeventisnotpermitted.Byattending/purchasingadmissiontotheevent,eachattendeegrantspermissiontoWSCCaswellasthehostingorganizer,NHSCC,anditsaffiliates,designees,agents,licenseesandinviteestousetheimage,likeness,actionandstatementsoftheattendeeinanyliveorrecordedaudio,video,film,orphotographicdisplayorothertransmission,exhibition,publication,orreproductionmadeof,orat,theeventinanymedium,whethernowknownorhereaftercreated,orcontextforanypurpose,includingcommercialorpromotionalpurposes,withoutfurtherauthorizationorcompensation.L. SPOTTERPOLICYInanefforttopromoteahigherlevelofsafetyforcompetitionathletes,WSCCwillprovideadditional

spottersallcheercompetitions.School,RecandClubCheerprogramsdonotalwayshavealargenumberofstaffandcoachesavailabletospotroutines.Toensurethatthesafetyoftheparticipantsisnotcompromisedduetolimitednumberofteamprovidedspots,additionalspotterswillbeprovidedbyWSCC.

Guidelines:1. WSCCCompetitionprovidedadditionalspotters

willbemandatoryonthecompetitionfloor.2. Alimitednumberofadditionalspottersmaybe

availableuponcoaches’requestinrehearsal/warmup.

3. School-basedteams,recreationalandclubteamsmayprovideadditionalspottersintherehearsal/warmuparea.

DefinitionofAdditionalSpotter:Individualsonthecompetitionfloorareprovidedasasafetyprecautiontospotcertainelementsofaroutine.Competition-provided“AdditionalSpotters”willfollowthelistedguidelines:AdditionalSpotters:1. Shouldonlybeusedduringthestunt,pyramid,

and/orbaskettosssections.Additionalspottersarepresentforaddedsafetyandshouldstandatthebackofthefloorwhennotspottingthosesectionsoftheroutine.

2. Shouldnottouch,assistorsaveskillsbeingperformed.Additionalspottersshouldonlybeusedtopreventafalltothecompetitionfloor.

3. Shouldbedressedsothattheyarepresentable,professional,anddistinguishablefromtheperformingathletes.

4. Shouldnotdressoractinamannerthatdistractsfromtheathletesandtheirperformance.

5. Shouldbeatleast18yearsoldandfamiliarwithspottingandtheskillsoftheperformingteam.

Note:Toprovidethesafestcompetitiveenvironment,teamsshouldnotattemptskillsbeyondtheirabilitylevel.

II. INTERRUPTIONOFPERFORMANCEA. UNFORSEENCIRCUMSTANCES1.If,intheopinionofthecompetitionofficials,a

team’sroutineisinterruptedbecauseoffailureofthecompetitionequipment,facilities,orotherfactorsattributabletothecompetitionratherthantheteam,theteamaffectedshouldSTOPtheroutine.

2. Theteamwillperformtheroutineagaininitsentirety,butwillbeevaluatedONLYfromthepointwheretheinterruptionoccurred.Thedegreeandeffectoftheinterruptionwillbedeterminedbythecompetitionofficials.

B. FAULTOFTEAM1. Intheeventateam’sroutineisinterruptedbecause

offailureoftheteam’sownequipment,theteammusteithercontinuetheroutineorwithdrawfromthecompetition.

2. Thecompetitionofficialswilldetermineiftheteamwillbeallowedtoperformatalatertime.Ifdecidedbyofficials,theteamwillperformtheroutineagaininitsentirety,butwillbeevaluatedONLYfromthepointwheretheinterruptionoccurred.

C.INJURY1. Theonlypersonsthatmaystoparoutineforinjury

are:a)competitionofficials,b)theadvisor/coachfromtheteamperformingorc)aninjuredindividual.

2. Thecompetitionofficialswilldetermineiftheteamwillbeallowedtoperformatalatertime.Ifthecompetitionofficialsallowaroutinetobeperformedatalatertime,thespotintheschedulewherethere-performanceistotakeplaceisatthesolediscretionofcompetitionofficials.Theteammayperformtheroutineagaininitsentirety,butwillbeevaluatedONLYfromthepointwheretheinterruptionoccurred.

3. Theinjuredparticipantthatwishestoperformmaynotreturntothecompetitionfloorunless:a. Thecompetitionofficialsreceiveclearancefrom,

first,themedicalpersonnelattendingtothatparticipant,theparent(ifpresent)ANDTHENtheheadcoach/advisorofthecompetingteam.

b. Ifthemedicalpersonneldonotcleartheparticipant,theparticipantcanonlyreturntothecompetitionifaparentorlegalguardianinattendancesignsareturntoparticipationwaiver.

c. Anyathletewhoexhibitssignsorsymptomsconsistentwithconcussionshouldberemovedfromtheactivityatthattimeandshouldnotbeallowedtoreturntoactivityonthatdayandsubsequentdayuntilevaluatedbyandreceiveswrittenclearanceforsuchparticipationfromaqualifiedphysician(MDorDOspecificallytrainedinconcussionmanagement).

d. InadditiontotheWSCCheadinjurypolicy,weencourageallstakeholderstobefamiliarwiththespecificlaw(s)ofthestatewherethecompetitionisbeingheld.

III.HOWTOHANDLEPROCEDURALQUESTIONS

A. RULES&PROCEDURESAnyquestionsconcerningtherulesorproceduresofthecompetitionwillbehandledexclusivelybythedirector/coachoftheteamandwillbedirectedtotheCompetitionDirector.Suchquestionsshouldbemadepriortotheteam’scompetitionperformance.

B. PERFORMANCE

Anyquestionsconcerningtheteam’sperformanceshouldbemadetotheCompetitionDirectorimmediatelyaftertheteam’sperformanceand/orfollowingtheoutcomeofthecompetition.

IV.INTERPRETATIONSAND/ORRULINGSAnyinterpretationofanyaspectoftheseRulesandRegulationsoranydecisioninvolvinganyotheraspectofthecompetitionwillberenderedbytheRulesCommittee.TheRulesCommitteewillrenderajudgmentinanefforttoensurethatthecompetitionproceedsinamannerconsistentwiththegeneralspiritandgoalsofthecompetition.TheRulesCommitteewillconsistoftheCompetitionDirector,HeadJudge,andadesignatedcompetitionofficial.V.SPORTSMANSHIP1. Allparticipantsagreetoconductthemselvesina

mannerdisplayinggoodsportsmanshipthroughoutthecompetitionwithpositivepresentationuponentryandexitfromtheperformanceareaaswellasthroughouttheroutine.

2. Theadvisorandcoachofeachteamareresponsibleforseeingthatteammembers,coaches,parentsandotherpersonsaffiliatedwiththeteamconductthemselvesaccordingly.Severecasesofunsportsmanlikeconductaregroundsfordisqualification.

3. Whenacoachisindiscussionwithanofficial,othercoaches,athletesandparents/spectators;thecoachmustmaintainproperprofessionalconduct.Failingtodosomayresultina1.0deduction,removalofthecoachordisqualification.

VI.EVENTRULESVIOLATIONSAnyteaminviolationoftheseRulesandRegulationsoranyoftheabovementionedguidelineswillbeassessedaten(10)pointdeductionforeach

violation.Thisdeductiondoesnotapplytoviolationsmentionedabovethataredesignatedalesserpointvalue.VII. DISQUALIFICATIONAnyteamthatdoesnotadheretothetermsandproceduresofthese“RulesandRegulations”willbesubjecttodisqualificationfromthecompetition,willautomaticallyforfeitanyrighttoanyprizesorawardspresentedbythecompetition.VIII.FINALITYOFDECISIONSByparticipatinginthischampionship,eachteamagreesthatdecisionbythejudgeswillbefinalandresultsmayONLYbereviewedforclarification.Eachteamacknowledgesthenecessityforthejudgestomakepromptandfairdecisionsinthiscompetitionandeachteamthereforeexpresslywaivesanylegal,equitable,administrativeorproceduralreviewofsuchdecisions.IX. b. TheCheerportionwillbevaluedatapossible35points(nativelanguageisencouraged)and65pointsfortheMusicsectionoftheroutine.Eachsectionwillbeaveragedandthencombinedforthefinalscore.

2. GAMEDAYCOMPETITIONROUTINES

a. TheGameDayChampionshipsshowcaseswhattraditionalcheerleadingisallabout-leadingthecrowd!Teamswillbeevaluatedontheirabilitytoleadthecrowd,propergamedayskillincorporations/performance,motion/danceandoverallroutine.

b. Theperformancewillfollowthisorder:BandChant/Dance,SituationalSidelineintoTime-OutCheer,FightSong.CollectivelytheSituationalSidelineandTime-OutCheersectionwillbedefinedastheCrowdLeadingportionoftheroutine.

c. Theuseofcrowdleadingtoolssuchassigns,poms,flagsand/ormegaphonesisrequired.(nativelanguageisencouraged)

d. Theincorporationofskills(StuntsandtumblingareallowedintheFightSong,SituationalSidelineandTime-outCheer)StuntsandTumblingarenotallowedintheBandChant/Dance.

e. TheBandChant/Danceshouldhaveanemphasisoncrowdappealandpracticality–Nostuntsortumblingispermitted;however,jumpsandkickswillbeallowed.

f. FollowingcompletionoftheBandChant/Dance,theannouncerwillprovidetheTeamperformingaSportingEvent/Gamescenarioindicatinganoffenseordefensesituation.Teamsshouldshowtheirdefinitiveunderstandingofthesituationwithanoffenseofdefensecrowd-leadingresponse,whichtransitionsthesquadintothecrowd-leadingportion.

g. ThejudgeswillscoreteamsusingthecriterialistedontheWSCCGameDayscoresheet.Eachteamwillbeevaluatedona100-pointsystem.

h. CrowdLeading(SituationalSidelineandTime-outCheer)willcountfor50points(ofthe100-pointstotalscore)andtheBandChant/DanceandFightSong(collectively)willcountfor50points(ofthe100-pointstotalscore).Eachsectionwillbecombinedforthefinalscore.(100totalpointspossible)
