During the season of Easter, what a great time to remember our mothers and ask for God's blessing on them. It is God who ultimately gave us life. It is through God's unselfish love--mirrored in our mothers' willingness to take the risk to love us into life--that we have life. We remember our mothers this Mother's Day with much love.

Let us pray for each of them:

Good and gracious God, creator of all good things in the universe, your Son, Jesus Christ, loved his Mother and modeled for us how we should love our mothers.

Bless all the women in our lives who model for us the love of a mother. Protect them and encourage them to love as you have loved us. Bless and protect those men in families who have no female partners and give them courage and strength to love their children in the absence of a mother. We ask all this in your name. Amen.

SPECIAL NATIONAL COLLECTION For the Trinity Dome at the National Shrine

Bishop Conlon has requested permission of the Presbyteral Council to reschedule this one-time special collection from this weekend, May 12th & 13th, to the weekend of August 12th and 13th.

The Bishops of the United States approved a special one-time second collection for the Trinity Dome. Your prayerful and financial support will not only adorn this “Crowning Jewel” and complete Mary’s Shrine, but will also leave a lasting legacy for generations to come in this living monument to our Catholic faith and heritage that is America’s Catholic Church.

TODAY Sunday, May 14th, the CCW Parish Woman of the Year, Donna Klopacz, will crown our Blessed Mother before the 10:30AM Mass. Our First Communicants have been invited to process in with Donna and to wear their Communion Outfits on this occasion. All our invited to join Donna in honoring our beloved Blessed Mother on this Mother's Day.

FELLOWSHIP SUNDAY MAY 21ST

The Eucharistic Ministers will be hosting fellowship immediately following the 10:30AM. Mass. Everyone is invited to stop in Barrett Hall for coffee, tea, juice, and goodies. It’s the perfect time to relax and enjoy sharing with fellow parishioners and friends. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Your Gift Makes a Difference! The Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal helps our parish and the Diocese of Joliet to provide countless ministries, programs and services to support our friends and neighbors in immeasurable ways. Our parish goal is $ 42,234 and to date we have received $ 33,664.

A mailing will soon be sent to all of our parishioners who have not yet made a gift to the CMAA. If you have not done so already, please reflect on God’s gifts to you and prayerfully consider supporting the CMAA. A gift to the CMAA, no matter the amount, will make a difference!

MOM’S NIGHT IN Our annual Mom’s Night In was Monday May 1ST in honor of National Mother Goose Day. We had a wonderful time celebrating Mother Goose along with our own mothers and their children. The moms and their children played games, ate snacks, created art work, and planted flowers. “Mother Goose” Mimi Nolan joined us, she recited nursery rhymes with the children and she read everyone a story at the end of our night.

I pray that Mary, our Heavenly Mother, becomes your model of faith, hope, and love in your family. One of my favorite ways to ask for Mary’s intercession is the Memorare.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided.

RCIA FOR CHILDREN Welcome to the Table of the Lord I am happy to announce that our RCIA for Children’s group were welcomed to the table of the Lord at Eucharist last week. Julia Allie, Daisy Carvajal, Kelvin Carvajal, and Yoseline Carvajal were in RE with their peers and came to RCIA for children classes with a parent on Sundays.
