United Way of Central Oklahoma Events United Way events are unlike those of other non-profits in that they are not fundraisers. United Way hosts events to show appreciation to donors and volunteers or provide a service to the community. Leadership Reception - Classen Curve - May 22, 2014; 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. United Way’s Leadership Reception is a members-only event held to thank Leadership donors who contribute $500 or more annually. These special guests are treated to hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and entertainment. An invitation only event, approximately 350 guests attend. These guests are United Way Leadership individual donors, at levels starting at $500 to $250,000 or greater. 2. Pacesetter Luncheon - Will Rogers Theatre - June 13, 2014; 11:30 - 1:00 p.m. CEOs, Employee Campaign Coordinators and campaign committee members are invited to enjoy lunch while they learn and share effective ways to run their pacesetter campaign. To be considered a Pacesetter company, workplace campaigns must meet certain criteria and complete their campaign by a predetermined date. Sponsors are recognized on the event signage and E-Newsletters to over 20,000 recipients. Approximately 175 guests attend. Sponsorship Level: $5,000 3. Pacesetter Games - American Fidelity Lawn - June 26, 2014; 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. Pacesetter Games offers an afternoon of teambuilding, food, fun and games for Pacesetter companies. The event serves as a competitive and enthusiastic kickoff to the Pacesetter Campaign involving over 25 corporate teams and United Way Partner Agencies. Sponsors are recognized on event signage, United Way website and E-Newsletters to over 20,000 recipients. Sponsorship Level: Two $1,000 sponsorships 4. Campaign Kickoff - Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark - September 5, 2014; 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. & 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. The annual Campaign Kickoff is a community-wide public event featuring a free pancake breakfast cooked by community leaders who serve as our “Celebrity Chefs.” The festivities include a pancake flipping contest, live music and the announcement of the United Way campaign goal. The public is also invited to enjoy a free family movie night under the stars later that evening. Sponsors are recognized in the program, invitations, event signage and the E-Newsletter received by over 40,000 United Way donors. An open public event, approximately 800 people attend. Table Sponsorships: $500 each/Movie Night Sponsorship: $800 5. Day of Caring - Locations across the metro - October 3 & 4, 2014 One of the country’s largest volunteer event where volunteer teams prepare meals for the homeless, refurbish playgrounds for children and play bingo with the elderly during United Way’s annual Day of Caring. Over 1,000 volunteers open their hearts and lend their muscles at this event while wearing special ordered LIVE UNITED Day of Caring t-shirts featuring sponsorship logos. An open public event. 1,000 ct. T-shirt Sponsorship: $5,000 6. Early Bird Celebration - Location TBD - November 12, 2014; 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. This reception honors companies that complete their United Way campaign by the Early Bird deadline and the class of Loaned Executives. Total dollar amount raised to date is announced along with distributing awards for exceptional campaign participation. Sponsors are recognized in the program and event signage. Approximately 200 guests attend this event. Sponsorship: Two $2,500 sponsorships available 7. Snowflake Gala - National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum - January 22, 2015; 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. This elegant event celebrates the accomplishments of donors and volunteers in the annual fundraising campaign. The total dollars raised during the campaign will be announced and volunteer awards are presented along with a formal dinner and live music. Sponsors of this event are recognized on the 6,000 mailed invitations, event signage, United Way website, and the E-Newsletter to over 40,000 United Way donors. Women’s Leadership Society EventsThe United Way of Central Oklahoma Women’s Leadership Society (WLS) unites women – their time, talent, and resources – into a powerful network of individuals devoted to enhancing and strengthening intergenerational opportunities within our community.

Women’s Leadership Society will focus on developing new leadership for the community through encour-agement of intergenerational interaction and mentoring. WLS will provide opportunities for leadership development by hosting events throughout the year focused on:

• Education – Bus tours, rallies, agency speakers and clients, other women leaders, electronic updates

• Mentoring – Event with Emerging Leaders, Bring your daughter/granddaughter event, teach the young women the importance of philanthropy

• Networking – reception, house warming party or baby shower for the lower income, wine tasting event

Women’s Leadership Society Baby Shower – MarchThe WLS annual Baby Shower event is dedicated to showering babies in need with outfits, diapers, and supplies through a United Way Partner Agency. A featured guest speaker will share information about the community needs and the agency’s mission addressing those needs. Approximately 50 women attend this event.

Women’s Leadership Society – Generational Giving – AprilLearn about generational giving from successful women in the community, as we bring together the Women’s Leadership society and the young women of Emerging Leaders. Approximately 60 women attend this opportunity to discuss philanthropy with our community leaders.

Women’s Leadership Society – Recruitment Luncheon – OctoberEach year we host a wonderful luncheon featuring a guest speaker who addresses topics focused on developing new leadership for our community through the encouragement of intergenerational interaction and mentoring. Approximately 200 women attend this event.

Remerge “Return to Work” Program - AugustEmerging Leaders has partnered up with Remerge to offer for a “Return to Work” program that focuses on helping women prepare for reentering the work force.

Halloween Carnival - October Special Care is a unique agency providing day care and therapeutic services to children with a range of mental and physical disabilities. Emerging Leaders run the various games and interact with families.

Holiday Gala - December Emerging Leaders partners up with Catholic Charities to provide a holiday dinner/dance for low income retirees to provide food, fun and plenty of presents!
