• Sharp beak to fight of predators
• Spikes on tongue to hold slippery prey
• Smooth bodies to help glide through water and snow
• Solid bones to help dive into water and catch prey
Penguin Nutritional Relationships
• Prey is fish, squid, and crustaceans
• Predators are seals, sea lions, and killer whales
• Food chain is algae, fish, penguin, killer whales, and bacteria
• Symbiosis is the penguin eats the minerals in the sea ice. This is mutualism.
