1. Who is on the Lord’s side?
Who will serve the King?
Who will be His helpers,
Other lives to bring?
Who will leave the world’s side?
Who will face the foe?
Who is on the Lord’s side?
Who for Him will go?
By Thy call of mercy,
By Thy grace Divine,
We are on the Lord’s side,
Saviour, we are Thine!
2. Not for weight of glory,
Not for crown and palm,
Enter we the army,
Raise the warrior-psalm;
But for love that claimeth
Lives for whom He died,
He whom Jesus nameth
Must be on His side
By Thy love constraining,
By Thy grace Divine,
We are on the Lord’s side,
Saviour, we are Thine!
3. Jesus, Thou hast bought us,
Not with gold or gem,
But with Thine own Life-blood,
For Thy Diadem
With Thy blessing filling,
Each who comes to Thee,
Thou hast made us willing,
Thou hast made us free,
By Thy grand Redemption,
By Thy grace Divine,
We are on the Lord’s side,
Saviour, we are Thine!
4. Fierce may be the conflict,
Strong may be the foe,
But the King’s own army
None can overthrow:
Round His standard ranging,
Victory is secure,
For His truth unchanging
Makes the triumph sure.
Master, Thou wilt keep us,
By Thy grace Divine,
Always on the Lord’s side,
Saviour, always Thine! Amen.

BIBLE STUDY OUTLINE
THEME: IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST SUB-THEME: Attributes of Jesus Christ (8) TOPIC: Eternality TEXTS: Isaiah 9:6-7; Matthew 2: 1-2;
John 1: 1, 14 AIMS: i. to establish the pre-existence of Jesus with the Triune God and ii. to reveal Jesus as the only way for man’s eternity with God INTRODUCTION: God is eternal. He has no beginning and no end. The Messiah holds the
same eternal attribute. Prophet Micah said of the coming Messiah that “Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are small among the clans of Judah; one will come from you to be ruler over Israel for me. His origin is from antiquity, from ancient times” (Micah 5:2) and the reign of His kingdom, there will be no end. (Isa 9:6-7) STUDY GUIDE/QUESTIONS 1. How do the following Scriptures testify to the existence of the triune God from eternity?
Gen. 1: 1, 26; Matt 3:16-17; John 1: 1-4; 2. What are the convincing evidences of Jesus’ eternal existence? Isa 9:6-7; Dan 2:44;
Micah 5:2; Matt. 2:1-2, 5-6;1 John 5:20. 3. How does a believer walk on the path of eternal life? 1Cor 15:58; Eph. 4: 4-5, 22-
24; 2 Peter 3:17 4. How can we convince unbelievers that Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life? CONCLUSION:
Being one with God from eternity, Jesus took on the human body and nature in order to redeem mankind. Therefore, only He who has eternal qualities can guarantee eternal benefits to anyone who believes in Him. FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Only the one who rules over death can give eternal life. MEMORY VERSE: Isaiah 9:7 “Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this”.
SPIRITUAL TONIC FOR THE WEEK Psalm 28:7
“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in Him my heart trusts, and I am helped, ...”
My Father in heaven, I pledge my absolute allegiance to You’. In life help me to stand for
You like men of old. As I continue to be on Your side, shame all adversaries that come
my way. Proclaim Your glory in my life through Your divine endeavour in Jesus name.
Amen.

GOD WILL COUNTENANCE YOUR SACRIFICE
ON THE LIGHTER SIDE
A woman walked into the railroad station of a small town and asked the attendant what time the train would arrive. He replied, “It comes in at 7.00 and leave at 7.15.”
It was only 5.00, so the woman walked across the street to get a cup of coffee. Just as she was entering the cafe, she heard the whistle of a train. She sprinted back and found the train pulling in. “You told me the train would come in at 7.00!” she yelled at the attendant. “I could have missed it!”
“Please calm down,” he replied. “That’s yesterday’s train.”

PRAYER FOR THE YEAR
Almighty God, the King of kings, You rule over all in heaven and on earth and Your reign is everlasting. Thank You for the grace to be citizens of Your Kingdom, make us understand our place in this kingdom, help us to represent Your interest very well on earth, enable us to comport ourselves as worthy ambassadors of Your Kingdom and Strengthen us to make known the peace and joy and all other benefits that come with Your rule in the world that through us the whole Creation will be delivered from its futility and hopelessness and in the end may we receive the crown of glory and shine as stars in Your eternal kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
THY KINGDOM COME, O LORD - A&MRW 816 Tune: St. Cecilia
1.
Thy kingdom come, O God, thy rule, O Christ, begin; break with thine iron rod the tyrannies of sin.
2 Where is thy reign of peace and purity and love? When shall all hatred cease, as in the realms above?
3
When comes the promised time that war shall be no more, and lust, oppression, crime shall flee thy face before?
4.
We pray thee, Lord, arise, and come in thy great might; revive our longing eyes, which languish for thy sight. 5 Men scorn thy sacred name, and wolves devour thy fold; by many deeds of shame we learn that love grows cold.
6
O’er lands both near and far thick darkness broodeth yet: arise, O Morning Star, arise, and never set!

“Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.” - Daniel 6:10 Oftentimes believers get into dire straits of choice as a result of things and issues of life which fight to distract them, particularly in the area of allegiance to God. In this circumstance they halt between two opinions of whether to deny God by compromising their stand in Him or to hold on to Him whatever may come. Such was the experience of the Israelites in exile, they were faced with pressure to abandon their faith in God for the worship of idols and to pledge their allegiance to their slave masters. A typical example is the account of Daniel and his three friends – Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Babylon (Daniel 3 and 6), Babylonian kings and their aides made efforts to distract their faith in God and to drag them into idol worship. They vehemently refused all attempts in this regard even when it means putting their lives on the line to elicit their uncompromising faith in the Almighty God. These acts manifested God and His kingdom to the heathens. The kings’ testimonies on the two occasions affirm God’s supremacy over and above other gods and that He rules in the affairs of His world. Nebuchadnezzar having witnessed the rescue of the three Hebrews from his fiery furnace confessed: “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent His angel and rescued His servants! They trusted in Him and defied the king’s command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.” To crown it all, he decreed that “the people of any nation or language who say anything against the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego be cut into pieces and their houses be turned into piles of rubble…” Daniel 3:28&29. Also, in Daniel 6:26, when King Darius saw the result of Daniel’s faith in God, he issued a decree that in every part of his kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel, saying: “For He is the living God and He endures forever; His kingdom will not be destroyed, His dominion will never end.” Uncompromising Faith in God is important to our relationship with Him and our efforts to make His kingdom renown. Uncompromising faith challenges God and move Him to action, throughout the Bible He recognises undaunting faith of His people in Him and rewarded them handsomely in the presence of their adversaries. The Bible says: “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is...” (Hebrews 11:6) God wants His children – citizens of His kingdom – to trust Him completely for everything and in whatever situation they may find themselves.” The world is always trying to assimilate us and make us lose our identity in Christ, it makes attempts to rename us outside God’s plan for our lives. The onus lies on us to be uncompromising in our approach and attitude. We must hold on to God and stand for Him and His kingdom no matter how tempting or perplexing the situation. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego said: “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and He will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if He does not,

we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Daniel 3:17-18 To demonstrate uncompromising faith, we must be like men of old who did not just react to things but were like a ship that never sways to the left or right no matter how hard the wind blows. We must live under God as the final authority and in the right kind of way that will not change based on other people’s opinions or the situation around them. We must always choose God and stand firmly in faith without wavering. The men of old were not scared for their lives because their relationship to God was more valuable to them than their lives. Our faith must prompt us into saying no to ungodly invitations and deeds, no matter how beautifully decorated they may be. There is no better time than now to exhibit uncompromising faith in God. This is the time to stand and be counted as the people of God. Now is the appropriate time to show the world that the kingdom of God is real and different from any other kingdoms and that God who is the King of the Kingdom cares for His own people and will not allow any harm to reach them. Our Christian faith should influence everything we do and stand for. If God is indeed the Creator and Saviour of the world, then He must have first place in everything. To compromise in our absolute allegiance and devotion to God is to allow the allurements of this world, with its accompanying worries, to take precedence over Christ (Matthew 6:24). Let us all stop being afraid to speak in His name. Let us not fear man to the point of disobeying and disappointing God because it pays to stand with and for God uncompromisingly.
