Network Setup

• Click on network icon• ADSL tab provides user name

and password for authentication.

• DHCP allows the dvr to pull an dynamic address.

• LAN allows you to put in a static address.

• 3G works currently with HuaWei 3G devices. You will need to input dial up, pin, and APN information

• DHCP is default setting when unit ships. • Leave on DHCP until you check for the IP address in the

Diagnostic screen (this helps verify what subnet the DVR is on. (if IP address is 10.0.1.100 and your computer is 10.0.10.10 than you cannot look at the DVR. DVR and Computer need to match first three sets of numbers).

• When you click on “LAN” the IP address will set itself automatically to 192.168.1.38. If you do not have a 192.168.1.xxx subnet DVR is invisible. (you will get “Page cannot be displayed).

• Set IP address to same subnet as a computer on network. Gateway of computer is gateway of DVR and is the address of the router that you will need to set up a port forward.

Diagnostic

• User does not interact with this page. It provides system info including firmware version, IP address, mac address and information about the hard drives.

• MAC address can be used for IP address reservation when DHCP is required setting by IT department.

• To determine IP address of computer bring up a “Command Prompt” and type ipconfig and pay attention to IPv4 address (win 7 and 8 windows XP will just call it IP address)– On win XP go to Start/run/cmd – ON win 7 & 8 click on windows globe in bottom left and

in search icon type “Command Prompt” and it will return link to icon.

HTTP Setup

• This allows users remote access into system.

• Port allows you to change remote access port.

• Resolution, Quality and FPS determine bandwidth usage. You can drop resolution down to QCIF if bandwidth is limited.

• Uncheck to make camera unavailable remotely

• You will only need to setup a port forward for a single port. BUT while the default TCP port of 80 is easiest it is being block by more and more ISPs

• If Router has “Public” port and “Private” port than port of 80 is ok. Otherwise consider using a port like 8000.

• When port is other than 80 it must be appended to IP address after : (colon)

DDNS Setup

• Enable DDNS• Chose i-dvr.net and input the

host name you created by going to http://i-dvr.net using the username and password from the bottom of the DVR . (see next slide) which you also input here.

• Make sure you put in the entire name such as idview.i-dvr.net

Go to http://i-dvr.net (not www.i-dvr.net)Type in user name and password from sticker on bottom of unit.

Type in desired Hostname and click “insert”. And you are done with this site. (You cannot have spaces or capital letters)Please be aware that if you are not on the network of the DVR at the time you hit “insert” you may need to manually type in public IP address of DVR’s network
