Module Rationale

This module identifies and explores ethical, legal

communication and other non-technical factors that

contribute to the success (or failure) of the development

of computer-related systems in a professional

environment.

It introduces fundamental skill and knowledge that

prepares you for professional employment

Module Learning Outcomes

Critically reflect and evaluate personal development and career needs,

and make subsequent personal and career action plans and apply

recruitment skills as appropriate.

Explain the organisational context in which professional work occurs,

including management, financial issues, team working, human resource

issues and recruitment

Explain the legal context and law applicable to professional computingand apply those principles to guide decision-making.

Explain the role of professional bodies, codes of conduct and

professional ethics and apply such codes as a guide to decision making
