AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE VILLAGE OF GIFFORD, CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, ILUNOIS

WHEREAS, ORVILLE A. LEISCHNER, NELLm LEISCHNER, ROBERT

HESTERBERG, NORMA HESTERBER<?, JOHN W. EMKES, NORMA J. EMKES,

THOMAS D. ZON FRILU, }LICE L. ZON FRII LI, CHARLES R . GEHRT and

DONNA M. GEHRT, petitioners, have presented a petition to the Village of Gifford,

Champaign County, IDinois, requesting that the following described real estate be

annexed to the VUlage of Gifford, to ·wit:

and,

Beginning 30 feet West of the Northwest corner of Lot 15 of Leischner First Addition to Gifford, lllinots; thence West on the North line of said addition projected 150 feet; thence South parallel to the line of New Street as platted tn said Addition 830 feet; thence East 150 feet; thence North 830 feet to the place of beginning, containing 2. 858 acres in the North­east Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 2, Township 21 North, Range 10 East of the Tlltrd Principal Meridian, Champaign County, Ulinots, being known as the Leischner Second Addition to Gifford, in Champaign County, llltnols;

WHEREAS, said petitioners are all the owners of record of all land within

such territory and are all of the electors residing therein; and,

WHEREAS, the said real estate is contiguous to the corporate limits of the

Village of Gifford, Illl~ots; and,

WHEREAS, the said real estate is not included within the corporate limits

of any municipality; and,

WHEREAS, it is 1n the best interests of the Village of Gifford tbat the said

real estate be annexed to and be within the corporate limits of the Village of Gifford;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the President and Board of

Trustees of the Vllla re of Gifford, Champaign County, Winois, that:

Section I

The following described property be annexed to and included within the

corporate limits of the Village of Gifford, Champaign County, lllinois, to-wit:

Beginning 30 feet West of the Northwest comer of I.ot 15 of Leischner First Addition to Gifford, illinois; thence West on the North Line of said addition projecte<llSO feet; thence South parallel to the line of New Street as platted in said Addition 830 feP.t; thence East 150 feet; lhence North 830 feet to the place of beginning, containing 2~ 858 acres in the North­east Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 2, Township 21 North, Range 10 East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Champaign County, Dlinois, being known· as the Letschner Second Addition to Gifford, in Champaign County, illinois;

Section U

This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,

approval and signing as provided by law.

Section m

Any Ordinances inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance are here-

by repealed or modified to the extent of the inconsistency.

Section IV

The Village Clerk ls directed to cause a certified copy of this Ordinance to

be fUed in the office of the County Recorder of Champaign County, Illtnola, and in the

office of the County Clerk, Champaign County, IDinois.

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION

W~, the undersigned, do hereby petition for the annexation

of the following described real estate to the VILLAGE OF GIFFORD,

ILLINOIS, and in support of said petition state the following:

1 . That the following described real estate :

is contiguous to the Village of Gifford, Illinois and is not within the

corporate limits of any municipality.

2. That this petition is signed by the owners of record of all

of said land within such territory, and by all electors residing thereon.

IT IS, THEREFORE, requested by the undersigned owners of record

of all land within such territory, and all electors residing thereon, who

join in this Petition, that the President and Trustees of the Village of

Gifford , Illinois, adopt an ordinance
