Printthegameboardsonthefollowingpagesontocardstock.Cutthemout.(Eachboardhasfourwordsorphrases.)
Note:Extrablankboardsareprovidedtoenableyoutomakeyourownboards.TherearemanysimilesintheSimileShenanigansgamethatyoucoulduse.
Cutouttheindividualgamecards(thesimiles)thatcorrespondtothegameboardsyouwilluse(seenotebelow).Shuffleandstackthem.(Again,thereareextrablankcards.)
Ifyouhavemorethansevenplayers,dividetheminto3–6teams.Teamsdonothavetohaveanequalnumberofplayers.Giveeachteamagameboard.
Giveeachteamsometypeoftokenssuchasbuttons,beans,orcoins.
Importantnote:Ifyoudonotuseallthegameboards,thegamewillflowbetterifyouremovethesimilecardsthatmatchtheanswersontheboardsyouwillnotbeusing.(Checkthenumbersthatfolloweachansweronthecards.Theycorrespondtothenumberoftheboarduponwhichthatanswerisfound.)Thisway,allthesimilesyoureadwillhaveananswerononeoftheboardsinplay.
TOPLAY
Theteacherpicksthetopcardfromthestackandreadsthebeginningofthesimile.
Playerslookatthewordsontheirboardstodetermineiftheyhaveawordthatmightcompletethesimile.Theteacheraskstheplayersiftheythinktheyhaveacorrectanswer.Shethenreadstheauthor’ssimile,andtheplayerwiththatanswercoversitwithatoken.
Playcontinuesinthesamewayuntiloneplayerorteamhascoveredallfourwordsontheirboard.Theyyell,“Coveredup!”andwinthegame.
