TraditionThis refers to the unwritten Words of God, handed down from the Apostles and kept inviolate through the centuries by the Magisterium (the Teaching Authority) of the Church.

It is the written Word of God, through the instrumentality of the evangelists under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. These writings were compiled and preserved by the Church founded by Christ.

As a partial fulfillment of this promise, David and his descendants ruled Judah for over 400 years.
Jesus Christ was a direct descendant of David and was the ultimate fulfillment of this promise (Acts 2:22-36).
