The Captain’s team won the event with 1685 points vs the 1557 points of the Presidents team. This past weekend our 1st league team played against Milnerton and halved the game 4 / 4 while the 2nd league team had a narrow 5 / 3 loss against a very strong Bellville team. Logs below. Next weekend sees no league play due to the long weekend and it will resume on the 17th again when our 1st league take on Durbanville and the 2nd league take on Clovelly. Best of luck guys.

Kuilsrivier Dutch Open
There are a number of Dutch golfers who regularly visit our club when enjoying their winter break in sunny South Africa. It has become customary for them to arrange a golf day amongst themselves when here and this has also spilled over to an event being held in Holland on a regular basis. The below message was sent by the conveners of the event Elly & Tjalling de Vries. Above is a picture of the trophy on offer as well as a picture below of the 16 participants. Already for the third time last Friday 2 August we played the Kuilsrivier Dutch Open at our Golfclub Zeegersloot in Alphen aan den Rijn (The Netherlands) with all the people we introduced at your club during their South Afrcan holidays over the past years. For Dutch standards the month of July was very hot and dry with temperatures close to the fourties. All heat records were beaten and the course was very dry and looked very brown. Like your course early last year. But August started with quite some rain, but still not enough. During our play we had some heavy rain showers and some sunshine as well, with temperatures in the twenties. Typical Dutch summer weather. With a total of 16 participants we played a strokeplay stableford competition. There were five winners with respectively 35, 34, 33 and equal 31 stableford points. All of them received a bottle of South African wine, while the overall winner Nico Dofferhoff received the Kuilsrivier Shallenge Trophee! After the match, because of the weather, unfortunately we couldn’t have our drinks at the terrace so we had to take them inside the clubhouse. At around seven we had a great dinner accompanied of course with excellent South African wines. Sweet memories…! Because all the participants will visit South Africa next year again it was agreed that we will organize a Dutch Kuilsrivier Open at your club again. I can assure you that everybody is already looking forward to meeting you at Kuilsrivier Golf Club! Baie dankie in advance!
The next Kuilsrivier Dutch Open has been scheduled for Monday 24 February 2020.
