Harrison College (www.harrison.edu), a higher education institution serving more than 5,000 students at 14 campuses, including their location in Grove City, has launched a career assessment tool designed to assist people with identifying careers that match their interests and personalities. The

career assessment tool is available to the public free of charge.

The career assessment tool is a multiple choice questionnaire that takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. Upon comple-tion, users receive a report that identifies careers that best fit their interests and person-alities, average salaries for those careers and programs of study that can lead to employment in those careers.

Harrison College, which has provided

career-focused educa-tion since 1902, has seen a rise in the number of adults returning to col-lege during the economic downturn in an effort to improve their pros-pects in an increasingly competitive job market. “Many displaced work-ers are coming to the realization that they may have to change careers to find employment, but they aren’t sure what they want to do or what they might be good at,” Jason Konesco, Harrison Col-lege President, said. This

career assessment tool is designed to help the user better understand their strengths and ambitions, corresponding careers, and a path for pursuing those careers.

To access the Career Assessment Tool, users should go to www.har-rison.edu/careerfocused. If you’d prefer to take the assessment in person, you can visit Harrison College in Grove City by calling Beth Keener or Christina Heath at (614) 539-8800.

Local Heartland therapist receives advanced certificationMichelle Edwards, PTA completes certification as a Certified Workers’ Compensation Healthcare Provider

Questionnaire takes 10-15 minutes to complete; identifies careers that match user’s interests

Michelle Edwards, Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, recently completed an intense training to specialize in the rehabilitation of injured workers. As part of this training program, Michelle is now nationally recognized as a Certified Work-ers’ Compensation Healthcare Provider.

This certification is the first and only of its kind and recog-nizes professionals who have advanced knowledge in the treatment of injured workers.

Therapists who complete this type of training are better able to work with our local industries and help to rehabilitate “on-the-job” injuries. They also work with local employers to create preven-tion and wellness programs to improve overall employee health.

Heartland Rehabilitation Services is an outpatient rehabili-tation agency under the owner-ship of Manor Care Inc., through its operating group HCR Manor Care. The company’s nearly

60,000 employees provide high-quality care for patients and resi-dents through a network of more than 500 skilled nursing centers, assisted living facilities, outpa-tient rehabilitation clinics and hospice and home health offices. Heartland is committed to being the preeminent care provider in the industry.

Heartland Rehabilitation Services is located at 2061 String-town Rd. in Grove City. Call (614) 871-2407 for more information or to speak with Michelle.
