An Incredible GiftBy Rev. Dr. Jerry Black, Associate Minister

Carefully choreographed. Thoroughlyplanned. Fundamentally impassioned.Clearly determined. All words thatdescribe the first Palm Sundaytheday Jesus rides into Jerusalem for the

last time. With palm branches waving, crowds cheering, opponents scheming, students believing, and the faithful

beaming, Jesus makes his way into the Holy City. And it is byno accident. It is intentional and purposeful. From the momentof his baptism, he has been firmly committed to this final visitto Jerusalem, for it is here that he will demonstrate forever themighty power of God and the awesome nature of Gods grace.

So we gather this week to celebrate and remember that first

Palm Sunday. Many of us will process from thepark, wave the palms, and enter for worship as tblessed recipients of Gods incredible grace. Wit

people singing and celebrating, pipers piping, and participantpraising, we will worship God, baptize the faithful, sing hymnpraise, offer prayers, share the communion, and enter the sacembrace of Gods love.
