Your air conditioner may be subject to any change owing to the improvement of JCI products.
VRF series multiple air conditioning systems adopt the consistent running mode, by which, all
indoor units can only be heating or refrigerating operation at the same time.
To protect the compressor, the air conditioning unit should be powered on for over 12 hours
before using it.All indoor units of the same refrigerating system should use the unied power switch to ensure
that all indoor units are in the state of being powered on at the same time during the operation
of air conditioner.

Functions:

Use remote controller setting single /double fan motor operation condition. In airflow mode,
press the sleep button 6 times within 10 seconds, if the buzzer short ring twice stands for
double fan motor condition; if only ring one time, stands for enter single fan motor mode.
5. Lamp instruction:
"POWER" lamp: It lights up when the Indoor Unit is powered.
"TIMER" lamp: It lights up when "TIMER" function is activated for programmed start/stop.

Function instruction:
1. Fresh air unit can control the outlet temperature but cannot control the room temperature.
2. In cooling mode, when air inlet temperature is lower than 19 , the unit run in fan mode; when
air inlet temperature is higher than 43 , the unit will try the best to run, but for protecting the
unit, it may stop running.
3. In heating mode, when air inlet temperature is higher than 18 , the unit run in fan mode;
when air inlet temperature is lower than -5 , the unit will try the best to run, but for protecting
the unit, it may stop running.

Safety
This manual should always be accessible and close to this air condition equipmet.
There are two types of indications, " WARNING"and " CAUTION" The indication
preventing from death or heavy injury is lister as " WARNING".Even the indication listed as
" CAUTION" may also cause serious accident. Both of them are related to safety, and
should be strictly follwed. After installation and start-up commissioning, please handover the manual to the user. The
manual should be well kept in safe place and close to the unit.
The installation or the maintenance should be pertormed by an authorized agency. The worng
operation of this air condition equipment may cause water leakage, electric shock or re.
Please install the unit on the top of a solid founfation or structure which is strong enough to
support the unit.
The installation of this condition equipment should follow local construction codes.
Use the right cable size, secure the terminal rmly, organize the cables well and make sure notension is added on cables. Cable insulation should not be damaged. The incorrect installation
may lead to overheat or re.
When installing or moving the unit, the refrigerant system should be vacuumed and recharged
with R-410A refrigerant. If any other gas enters the system, it may lead to abnormal high
pressure which may cause damage or injury.
Please use the proper manifolds or branches during the system installation. The wrong parts
may cause refrigerant leakage.
Keep the drain pipe away from toxic gas vents to prevent possible pollution of indoor
environment.
During or after the installation, please check whether there is refrigerant leakage. If any
leakage, please take any measures for ventilation. The refrigerant may be toxic at some
concentration levels.
The unit is not explosion-proof. Please keep it away from ammable gases.
The drain pipe should be installde per this manual to ensure proper drainage. The pipe should
be well insulated to avoid condensation. Wrong installation may lead to water leakage.
Both liquid pipe and the gas pipe should be also well insulated. Not enough insulation may
lead to system performance deterioration or humidity formation.
This air condition equipment is not intended to be operated by persons with lack of experience
and training, unless they have supervision or instruction concerning use of this air condition
equipment.
Please keep children away from this air condition equipment.
Grounding wire should be connected with the grounding bar. The grounding wire can not be
connected to the gas pipe, water pipe, lightening rod or the telephone grounding wire.
Improper grounding may cause electric shock.
The Circuit Breaker should be installed.If not, it may cause electric shocks.
After installation, the air condition equipment should be powered on and passed the electric
leakage current lest.

works of art etc. It is an air conditioner
for comfort cooling / heating, not a

Use the correctly rated breaker or
fuse. Improper breaker or fuse may
lead to re, electric shock, explosion,
personal injury or death.
Do not permit water or steam to enter
the unit and the wired controller.
There is risk of unit failure, re,
electric shock, personal injuryor death.
Turn on the power at least 6 hours
before operation begins. Starting
operation immediately after power
on can result in severe damage to
internal parts.
Turn off the power to save energy if
the unit will be not used for a long
period. If the unit is not powered off,it will consume power.
3-minutes protection
To protect the unit, compressor can be
actuated with at least 3-minutes delay after
stopping.
Close the window to avoid outdoor air
getting in.Curtains or
window shutters can
be put down to avoid
the sunshine.
Do not touch the power switch with
the wet hand to avoid power shock.
Stop running and switch off the manual
power switch when cleaning the
unit.
During the unit operation, don't switch off
the manual power switch.

Maintenance
Repair can only be performed by professional personnel.
Before touching the connection line, all power supplies should be switched off. Only after
switching off the power supply can the operator clean the air conditioner as to avoid electricshock or injury.
When cleaning the air cleaner, make sure to use a stable platform; don't ush the air
conditioner with water, or the electric shock might be caused.
Daily Maintenance - 4-Way Cassette type
2.Dismantle the gauze: press the outer frame of the air inlet grid by the thumb, and draw the
base angle of gauze by the forenger and pull it out as to make the gauze disengage the
locks and dismantle the gauze (as shown in Fig. 3).
Remove and install the lter
1.Remove the air inlet grid as shown in the gure: press down the two locks on the grid (as
shown in Fig. 1) to move it close to the nearby grid, gently lift it 45 degree (as shown in Fig. 2),
and then remove the air inlet grid.
Installing air cleaner and air inlet grid:
1. Mounting the gauze: opposite to the ways of
dismantling the gauze (as shown in Fig. 3 above).
2. Mounting the air inlet grid: as shown in the right
figure, nip the locks on the grid as directed by
arrows, put the side with the lock device into the
lock port, and then put the side with locks into the
panel frame. Release the locks to position the grid
after determining that the grid is abutting upon the
bottom of the panel frame.

Cleaning the air outlet port and the shell:
Maintenance
Daily Maintenance
Clean the air cleaner & air inlet grid.
Don't dismantle the air cleaner if not cleaning, or faults might be caused.
When the air conditioner operates in the environment with too much dust, clean the air
conditioner more times (generally once every two weeks).
Attention
Don't use gasoline, benzene, diluents, polishing powder or liquid insecticide to clean them.
Do not clean them with hot water of above 50to avoid fading or distorting.
Wipe them with soft dry cloth.
Water or neutral dry cleanser is recommended if the dust cannot be removed.
The Wind Deector can be dismantled to clean (as below).
Do not wipe the wind deector with water forcibly to avoid falling off.
Wipe dust with water or dust collector.
(A) Wipe dust with dust collector. (B) Clean it with soft bush in mild detergent
if there is too much dust on it
(C) Throw off the water and airing it in the
cool dry condition.
Before Operating Season: 1. Please make the following checkup. If abnormal condition occurs, consult the after-service
personnel.
There is no blockage in inlet port and outlet port of outdoor and indoor units.
The ground line and the wiring are in the proper state
2. After cleaning, the air cleaner must be mounted.
3. Switch on to the power.
After Operating Season:
1. In sunny days, blowing operation can be performed for half a day to make the inside of
machine dry.
2. Electrical power should be cut down to economize electricity, or the machine will stillconsume power.Air cleaner and shell must be mounted after cleaning.

Don't rinse the air cleaner with hot water of above 50to avoid fading and distorting.

Daily Maintenance - 2-Way Cassette type
Daily Maintenance:
Wipe them with soft dry cloth.
Water or neutral dry cleanser is recommended if the dust cannot be removed.
The Wind Deector can be dismantled to clean (as below).
Repair can only be performed by professional personnel.
Before touching the connection line, all power supplies should be switched off. Only afterswitching off the power supply can the operator clean the air conditioner as to avoid electric
shock or injury.
When cleaning the air cleaner, make sure to use a stable platform; don't ush the air
conditioner with water, or the electric shock might be caused.

When the air conditioner operates in the environment with too much dust, clean the airconditioner more times (generally once every two weeks).
Take up the panel then pull forward, draw out from the bottom slowly. (The panel only can
move to left or right, please take down it after conformation.)
Unfasten the thread against the both of ends falling off.
Pull the air lter downward and take it out.
Clean the air cleaner & air inlet grid

Replacement of Air Purifying Filter
1.Open the lnlet Grille
Prop up the inlet grille by using a small device named grille-support
which located in the right side of the indoor unit.
2.Detach the standard air lter Slide the knob slightly upward to release
the lter, then withdraw it.
3.Attach Air Purifying Filter
Put air purifying lter appliances into the right and left
lter frames.
4.Attach the standard air lter
(Necessary installation)
ATTENTION:
The white side of the photocatalyst air purifying lter face outside,and the black side face the
unit The green side of the bacteria-killing medium air purifying lter face outside,and the white
side face the unit.
5.Close the Inlet Grille
Close the Grille surely
Note - The lter medium mentioned below is optional:
The photocatalyst air purifying lter will be solarized in xed time. In normal family, it will
besolarized every 6 months.
The bacteria-killing medium air purifying lter will be used for a long time,no need for
replacement. But in the period of using them ,you should remove the dust frequently by
using vacuum cleaner or apping them lightly, otherwise, its performance will be affected.
Please keep the bacteria-killing medium air purifying lter in the cool and dry conditions
avoid long time directly sunshine when you stop using it,or its ability of sterilization will bereduced.
MaintenanceDaily Maintenance - High wall type
Clean the machine.
Turn off the air conditioner before cleaning.
Do not touch the machine if the hands are wet.Neither hot water nor solvent should be used in cleaning.

Clean the lter
Use water or vacuum cleaner to remove dust.If it is too dirt, clean with detergent or neutral
soap water. Rinsing with fresh water, dry the
lter and re-assemble.
Caution:
Do not wash f i l ter in hot water above
40 ,which will damage the lter.
Do carefully wipe the lter.
Clean the indoor(outdoor) unit
Clean with warm cloth or neutral
detergent,then wipe away moisture with
dry cloth. Do not use too hot water(above
40 ),which will cause discoloration or
deformation. Do not use pesticide or other
chemical detergents.
Maintenance at the end of application season
On a fine day, unit shall be started and operate in FAN mode for
about half a day until the inside of the unit becomes thoroughly dry.
Turn off the unit operation switch and power on/off.
Otherwise,there will be some electricity consumption
even the unit is in stop status.
Clean the lter and indoor,cover the units well.
Maintenance before beginning of application season
Check there are no obstacles in the air inlet and outlet to avoid impairing of working efciency.
Please do attach the air filter to ensure the electrostatic filters not soiled.Otherwise,dirt will
come into and damage the unit or bring failures.

During operation, the air conditioner may make thecracking sound, which is caused from the temperaturechanges or the slight dilation of heat exchanger.

It displays the awaiting indication as it fails to performrefrigerating operation while other indoor units arein heating operation. When the operator set it to therefrigerating or heating mode and the operation is oppositeto the setting, it displays the awaiting indication.

To prevent oil and refrigerant from blocking the shutdownindoor units, refrigerant ows in the short time and makethe sounds of refrigerant owing. Otherwise, when otherindoor units performs heating operation, white steam mayoccur; during refrigerating operation, cold air may appear.
When the conditioner is powered on, the sound is madedue to the resetting of the expansion valve.
Check if it is in the state of Timer-ON and Timer-OFF.
