End-to-End Service Parts Management Scenarios

The following cross-component, end-to-end scenarios are addressed with Service Part Management with SAP

Procure-to-Stock describes a scenario from the use of historical information for forecasting and inventory planning through DRP and releasing, the inbound goods receipt and distribution of the receipt quantities through the network

The Sell-from-Stock scenario shows the handling of orders from order receipt through allocation and supersession to the executed fulfillment of that order including export and billing

Third-Party Order Processing shows the fulfillment process for orders that are entered to and billed by the manufacturer but delivered directly from the supplier to the customer

Claims & Returns describes the reverse logistics scenario- initiated by the manufacturer or by the customer – including the execution, goods receipt and crediting of the customer

The Entitlement Management scenario handles the management of exchange products including core credits and core returns

Service Parts Planning

Service Parts Management is structured in two areas:

Service Parts Planning

The target of the Service Parts Planning solution is to

• determine the required inventory at customer facing DCs to meet the target service levels,

• plan the procurement and

• plan the replenishment for the customer facing DCs.

No production, only external procurement is considered.

Service Parts Execution

The Service Parts Execution Scenario contains the processes for

• sales (either from stock or from a supplier via Third-Party Order Processing)

• claims, returns and entitlement,

• the processing of purchase orders and stock transfers and

• warehouse related processes.
