Saarland University’s MBA School has been offering the postgraduate program “European Management” since 1990.The program confers the title of “Master of Busi-ness Administration (MBA)” and was accredited in 2009 by the FIBAA (Foundation for Interna-tional Business Administration Accreditation). The program was recognized in particular for its practical and international character.Since October 2009, those not enrolled in the program have the opportunity to audit individual courses on current management topics.
The postgraduate MBA program “European Management” consists of 15 course weeks of in-class lectures, three of which take place abroad. All courses are offered exclusively in English.The program comprises eight different modu-les, each containing fi ve-day lectures, and can be completed in one (minimum) to four years (maximum).Module 8 of the program – “International Retai-ling & Logistics” – is particularly relevant for the fi eld of logistics.This module focuses primarily on specialists and management personnel seeking to learn more about critical trade structures and how they can be logistically optimized.

Aside from the traditional faculties, the Université de Lorraine has three university institutes. The East Moselle Technical Institute is one of these three institutes.

The Aviation Business – Piloting and Airline Ma-nagement course content covers economic and engineering knowledge tailored to the aviation industry (and in particular to airlines). In additi-on to basic subjects such as Cost Accounting, Investment/Financing and Mathematics/Statistics, knowledge of key issues relating to the freight and passenger transport industries, aviation organization and aircraft maintenance, and repair diagnostics is conferred. This practical course takes 4 semesters and paves the way for access to the higher echelons of Ger-man public service and further doctoral studies.
The Masters course in Business Administration and Engineering is designed to deepen know-ledge within the two areas mentioned above. Graduates are able to independently fi nd and implement solutions for problematic areas that were previously unknown; above all they are developers.
The Masters course in Business Administration and Engineering is an inter-disciplinary course and covers mathematics, natural and industrial engi-neering and economics and includes supplemen-tary modules such as law and communication. Even though scientifi c, technical and economic components are given roughly equal weight, an average of nine out of ten graduates end up in business positions.

Students specializing in Sustainable Logistics Ma-nagement deepen their understanding of Process and Logistics Management. Graduates should be able to analyze intra- and inter-company logistic processes, recognize weak points and optimiza-tion potential as well as design process-oriented holistic and sustainable logistics chains. The bilingual logistics and transport management course (Gestion Logistique et Transport – GLT) at the East Moselle Technical Institute takes four semesters and leads to a university degree in technology (Diplôme universitaire de technolo-gie).
