Class-wide Project, test grade for contributing The goal is to promote understanding– what do the

hearing students/faculty need to know about Deaf Culture and ASL?

Some traditional activities: Make posters with some “cool” facts about ASL and Deaf

Culture (eg. Did you know that Lady Gaga, Johnny Depp, and

Natalie Portman all studied ASL?; Did you know that Thomas Edison was Deaf?)

Create/pass out alphabet cards or flyers at lunch time- we have one flyer already but you could change/improve it

Experience a “Deaf” day- go all day without signing (teachers are given notice ahead of time)

Create a short video and ask to show it on announcements one day
