Order of class: Materials, Attendance, Activities, HW (HW is recorded in assignment books and

stamped). Learning Goals/Thinking Skills, Science Start-Up Review previous day’s material. At the close of class we review/end with questions. See today’s lesson…

6TH GRADE SCIENCE

Science Active Reading together (notebook), complete activities together, answer

questions discuss topics together, work is collected and graded. Other option – more Independent. Includes Higher Thinking, Mini Projects. (P-

SQ3R-HT-EPA) – See website for PPT Guided notes and reinforcement activities. (Packets containing vocabulary and

notes-sample on tables). Power Point can be used to guide note taking. (PPT is available on website). Labs are completed in class. One test- Earth’s Water’s Ch. 1. Quizzes come from note packet and class sheets. Study guides given for quizzes. (5 days in before quiz) Students may take re-quizzes. Scores are averaged together. Science Extension-opportunities to apply science to help our world. – See website

Absent: Students should see me for what they missed. Labs are typically excused but

packet work can be made up. Students can also check the website.

Pinnacle: please check Homework: I will always give 10 minutes for students to start

notes/vocab homework. Other homework is usually finishing the activity that we have already started in class, or studying/reviewing information.
